Milk coating

Does anyone know when this is supposed to get better??
My LOs milk coating is very thick I can't just wipe it off either. She's already been treated for thrush once and doctor said it was gone and didn't seem at all concerned with the coating. Is it normally worse with breasfed babies?
Can bacteria build up on the coating?
I don't think it is bothering LO what so ever I guess I'm just being a worried momma!

It is so nerve wracking! Because when pedi said she had thrush I feel like it looked the same as when she said it was gone!! There was no white patches anywhere, just her bottom lip was a little white tinted

Dumb question, perhaps, but what is a milk coating?

Basically built up milk on baby's tongue. It just sticks to her tongue and won't come off, or maybe it would wipe off if LO cooperated, she gets frustrated when I try, can't really blame her!

After you feed the baby you will still see milk coat the tongue for a while . It kind of looks like thrush. I used to dip LO paci in water to wash it out and that was also my test to make sure it wasn't thrush . The milk would just rinse out with water

Is LO ff or bf? I'm curious if it's more common with bf babies to have the coating

My bad she is ebf. Also she has a small dark spot under the coating. That is what caught the pedis eye.

My LO has this too!!! I just noticed it today, I was freaking out! That's why I asked about bacteria because I have no idea what it is!

This. My dr said it was no problem. We tried to wipe it off but couldn't get her to stick her tongue out. Somehow she went to daycare and came home with it cleaned off! I have to ask them how they did it. It's nbd but it looks gross.
