Its been a rough several days. Thanks to my labor buddy LucEnLuv for updating everyone! I went in for my OB appt on Monday Jan 27th where I was told I had high blood pressure and my ankles had swelled up. I wasent even allowed to go home and get my bags! I got to L&D around noon and was admitted. It seemed like forever until they gave me what was supposed to be my first of two doses of misoprostal. Within a very short time I had dilated to a 8 and contractions had started. They then tried to slow down my delivery, but not much success there. Around 2:40 am I started pushing and at 3am exactly Piper was born! Through out my delivery I had to wear an oxygen mask because Pipers heart rate kept dropping. Once her head came out they found the cord wrapped around her neck.
The moment they laid her on my tummy I started crying uncontrollably! I was overwhelmed with love for this little girl I just laid my eyes on. Her Apgar score was a 9, but she does have some jaundice. The doctors think she will keep her blue eyes as to how light they are. My breast milk has been taking awhile to come in so we have to supplement. She was born at 7 pounds 8 ounces but in the first 2 days dropped to 6 pounds 7.8 ounces. We have had a lot of trips to the ped and once to the ER for her lack of want to feed and sleepiness/jaundice. She has finally got some weight gain and her feeding down. She is otherwise a very happy baby. We couldnt be happier! Her is a pic I took in my studio today.
My hubby and I have been together since 2008. Married 5 years in Dec. DX with PCOS and
annovulatory hypothalamus. TTC for baby #2 for 10 months BFP on May 29th 2015
She is so beautiful. I'm so happy they were able to take her before the cord situation got any more serious!! Congrats, mama!

Congratulations! What a lovely little cherub! (if cherubs can be girls ... the cloud-like background to the picture and her sweet chubby cheeks made me think cherub) So glad she is here and OK even though her entry to the world was a bit more dramatic than expected!
