Ok so my LO is starting his new day care on Monday and they called yesterday to tell me there's been a reported case of RSV there. I've done some research on it, but can any of you ladies out there who's LO's have had this give me a little insight? Like what symptoms to watch out for and how bad it was? Just trying to be as prepared as I can be just in case. Thanks in advance!

The main worry with RSV is the trouble breathing. It is basically a cold, on steroids, that lasts for a while. I was told mainly you give supportive care, ie tylenol, baby boogie grabber, saline cool mist humidifier, and pedialyte instead of formula if baby is not wanting to eat. ( it thins out secretions better and keps hydrated). Basically watch for dehydration and breathing problems. If you suspect any of those, get LO checked. Pedi siad that not all babies respond to the breathing treatments for the wheezing though. I was also suprised to learn that the dr office test is not as sensitive for RSV as the hospital. That is why he was negatice then positive.
Fast forward a couple weeks and my LO can still be a snot factory at times but he is doing ok! Trust your mommy instinct and in if in doubt, get LO looked at! Good luck and maybe it will pass you guys by!
Luckily her fever was low and she was not dehydrated.
My pedi suggested to buy Pedialyte but recommended to BF since it has so many antibodies which I did.
