When I was nearing the end of my pregnancy I got the napping bug and not the nesting bug. Since I came home on Wednesday - I have done 5 loads of wash, the dishes a million times, set up toys and have not taken a nap. I feel like I'm running on adrenaline and it will run out very soon. In some ways I know I am doing too much but I cannot seemto stop myself.
I need more sleep obviously, but napping seems hard to come by. I realize this is stupid. When people come over I have chosen showering and sitting over napping.
Yes, mess and clutter stress me, so I couldn't bring myself to nap when things needed to get done. But I had dh home the first couple weeks. Since he went back to work I don't get as much done, and some days I get nothing done, lol
I've probably nested way more post baby than before. DD was 15 days early and I had grand plans to nest and clean and get ready for her over the holidays. She had other ideas. It's more than a month later and I still have presents from my baby shower on December 15 to organize and put away as well as other gifts we got right after she was born. Then there's the general clutter and mess...
I try to take at least one nap a day just to keep myself going, but it's also a little easier now that she's getting older and doesn't eat every hour.
This happened to me too! My parents came when LO was 2 weeks old and instead of napping while they held him I cleaned and organized! Honestly, doing that stuff makes me feel more rested. I'm crazy.
This happened to me also! He came 3 weeks early, so I imagine that was part of it. But, when we first came home I decided to rearrange stepdd's bedroom and overdid it and my bleeding got worse. So try and take it easy and don't do too much. Now I sit down on Sundays and make a weekly to do list and give myself until Friday to get it all done.
Yes, for the first week or so, I was in super nesting mode, making quiches and sewing and organizing... It eventually calmed down and allowed me to actually nap and stay pretty rested.

I was the same! LO came 3 weeks early so I think that was part of it plus I was totally running on adrenaline. I felt like super mom until I crashed and ended up in hospital when LO was 3 weeks old. I had caught a bug and my body was so warn down it couldn't kick it. I was on IV for 3 days. Now I make sure I take time for myself and don't sweat the small stuff. Baby needs a healthy mama. We had 2 rough nights so I asked my mom to come help out so I can get a good nap in today.
I've always cleaned and continue to clean but my nesting is a direct link to cooking. I try to cool everyday now bc I'm home. So long as DS doesn't scream his brains out, I'm all about it.
@ashybear I made my first two quiches a few weeks ago and they were a hit!
Yes, I've been nesting and cleaning like crazy lately. I have to force myself to take it easy since I am also recovering from another C/S. I think it has a lot to do with having my in-laws at the house. They are very much like DH and do not mind clutter, however it drives me absolutely nuts...
