I have a 22lb 30 in 14 month old that is obsessed with being
“up” when I am in the kitchen I have deiced the best way to deal with this is a
ring sling. However I am not a traditional baby wearer as I had a crotch
dangler that I only wore a handful of times as a baby. I do not want to jump
into a really nice expensive one until I know we will like it. So I want to
start off cheap but a good cheap if that makes sense. I thought about DIY but I
have no time or patience. Any recommendations?? TIA
Sleepingbaby.net - a linen sling is always a great supportive choice. You can't really get a quality sling cheaper than Sleeping Baby Productions unless you go used.
My 16 month old 24lb DD also always wants to be up when I'm in the kitchen. Sometimes I tell her to get a chair and stand and watch, but other times she just wants to be held---and she can sit on the counter for me as she stands up or goes for the knives as I'm cutting.
I am going to make my own RS (I know you said you didn't want to) but in the meantime (waiting on the rings to arrive) I took a cloth (A big piece of material i use to put her on my back African style) and I put her on my hip with the material under her butt and tied it over my opposite shoulder! She was so happy while I was making breakfast this morning!
