Do you give your children Valentine's gifts? My parents always gave my brother and me something to mark the day like a new sweater or candy. My husband and I give the boys a new book and something else. Last year we gave them a new DVD. This year we are planning on bathing suits since I enrolled them in swim lessons. Do you celebrate Valentine's Day with your kids or just your spouse?
My dad always got us chocolates and stuffed animals. I'll probably do the same for ds. No idea what I'm getting DH, however.

Yes I love gifts. Dd is getting a zebra blanket and pillow along with two new books in a series she is reading. DS is getting a small Lego set and his own set of bob books. I spent about $15 on each. DH will get me flowers and DD three roses as he has every year since she was born and my dad still sends me three roses as he has every year since I was born. It is DH birthday so that is what we will really focus on.
We don't celebrate V-day, I just don't get it. DH's grandfather always gives "his girls" candy on Valentines though, and when I married in, I am now included in that which I think is sweet.
Do you not even say Happy Valentine's Day? I can't imagine not acknowledging it. I know it has been dubbed a Hallmark Holiday, but I love all the love.

I usually make DH whatever dinner he'd like, and he gets me flowers... that's pretty much it. We spend the night together, maybe watch a movie, and DH's guaranteed to get lucky.. I put on lingerie, light candles, etc... make it special. We don't make a big deal of it though. Growing up my mom always gave my brother and I a card and small gift, like a stuffed animal or some candy, but I don't think we'll do that with our kids. Maybe? But not this year anyways... it's just not one of the holidays I can get excited about.
Yes, my parents always got us something small. I think the kids got a treat and a helium balloon last year. This year I got them each a small heart candy box and may get them something else small if I find something. I also make the kids heart pizza for dinner and they help make a Valentine dessert. This year DD wanted to pack a valentine in DH's lunch box and send the grandparents Valentines so we need to work on those.
Oh, I almost forgot DH always gets me flowers and DD gets one. It started a couple years ago when DD wanted a pretty flower for her room; DH has done it every year since. I will probably lose two flowers this year since DS is older. : )
Yup. Growing up my dad always got me a little box of candy and a small toy or something special. And usually took me out for lunch.
I love any reason/excuse to give gifts. I have always gotten DS something for Valentines Day, along with DH obviously. This year I think DS is getting a new book, stuffed animal, balloon and some small candies. Maybe a few coloring books or cars. I typically will only spend $20ish on him. Not sure what DH is going to get but I always make his favorite meal for dinner, Chicken Parm with Alfredo and a cheesecake for dessert. I will also get something small for my parents from DS.
Eventhough it is a "Hallmark Holiday" Valentines Day is one of my favorites and a huge love fest month in our house.
ANGELS ARE GIVEN WINGS AND TAKEN BACK TOO SOON --- We love and miss you soo much Kacie Rae --- 9/11/10 --- born sleeping at 29wks2d
Not gifts, but I typically do fun stuff with their school lunches... Cut their fruit into hearts, pack a special treat, stick a little corny valentines note in there. I usually bake a cake or cupcakes for after dinner, too.
I vant seem to remeber what iv gotten ds in the past but ill get him something this year too. Maybe a movie snd some m&ms. Actually this year on valentines ill make a cute heart dinner and whateevr and the celebrate with she on saturday.
Eta my dad always got me something. Usually the smaller version of whatever he got me mom.
We will do something. Probably not gifts but maybe like make tissue paper flowers when she is older or something like that. Dh gets me flowers, I will get him a card and something small. All 3 of us have birthdays in January so we will take it easy on Valentine's lol.
I am having DD make valentine cards and I will mail them to our family. I get a card for DH and DD as well. We will make a nice dinner of some sort at home, but I always tell DH not to buy me flowers. Wait a month, they cost a lot less and then you can buy them twice
Hallelujah, it's a miracle, I have children AND a signature!
We usually order out a heart shaped pizza for dinner. We eat off Valentines day plates and have a special dessert. I also put a small gift at everyone's place setting. Last year, I did tervis mugs filled with Hershey kisses.

Now we give her a chapter book + candy bar.
DH and I don't do anything for each other, no gifts. We just cook a meal we love and make some type of dessert and stay in.
