Hopefully it's not considered bad forum etiquette to start this thread, but I feel like there are quite a few of us in the 2ww (or 10 day wait) and I'm just curious about your decision to POAS or not. I was initially beta or bust, but maaaaaan this is tough! On one hand, I'm not feeling prego, have constant cramps, and really want to know. On the other, I know there's a good chance the HPT could be wrong no matter what it says.....oh what to do......thoughts?

I am ridiculous and POAS 4dp5dt. Soooooo worth it. But each day I wonder if it will still be there. Last IVF I tested out the trigger and I think it helped get me mentally prepared for the bad news. By the time beta rolled around, I already knew and had started to accept it.

I POAS everyday from 6dp3dt till beta for IVF #1 and it was absolutely depressing to go through the full grief cycle for the better part of a week. I resolved to go beta or bust for IVF #2 and then our transfer got canceled. It was devastating!! For IVF #3, I pray we make it to transfer, and I know without a doubt that I will go beta or bust. It will be hard, but what 2ww is ever easy?! Good luck, girls!
I am debating on whether to POAS or not during this 2ww. I am currently 5dp3dt and my beta is still over a week away. I'm probably going to crack and just POAS soon.... I am sooooo impatient and this 2ww is driving me insane!!!

Honestly, the only reason I'm going beta or bust is because I tested for every. single. IUI. And it was completely depressing to go into the office for blood work, knowing it was going to be negative, and have the staff be super excited and hopeful. And DH got mad because I would breakdown after he left and do it with out him. Whoopsies...

I am a pee pusher, so naturally I pee!! On my first IVF I peed 7dp5dt and got a very clear positive, this time I knew it was going to be negative so I waited till the day before beta.
*** Signature warning *** flyby on this great question from SAIF and PAIF, four cycles of IVF including a cancellation, I have peed on enough sticks to wallpaper a bathroom ***
I peed starting 4dp3dt every time because I emotionally needed to find out in private, and slowly. I knew that if I found out post-beta from a mostly unfamiliar nurse over the phone, I'd feel a need to white lie and reassure her I was fine if it was BFN - or be restrained and classy in my joy if it was BFP - and I'd hang up the phone feeling like I'd screwed up my response and would be all bottled up inside. I always felt like I had to know as soon as I could know and be either alone for it or with DH, so I could respond as authentically and socially inappropriately as I wanted in those first few moments of awaiting the line (or no line). I wonder if I'm the only one

I'm so glad this thread got started. I am considering using one of the HPTs I have left from a 3-pack I bought over the summer before DH's numbers were retested (turned out a UTI made me late!). I'm 8dp5dt and my beta is scheduled for 2/3- my office won't do beta testing until 18 days past ER. Is that standard?

So glad this thread was started! I am I currently in my ten day wait as well. Mytransfer wass Jan 23 with a frozen! I want to test but nervous due to past ivf. To test or not to. Our beta I'd Feb 3!
I POAS during IUIs and got burned by a false positive on the last one. That was beyond rough, especially considering it was the first time I got anything even resembling a BFP. So, we are going beta or bust during IVF.

I believe in POAS. I definitely want to find out in private and as early as possible. If I POAS I can do it on a good day of the week (i.e., not a work day) and be in control of the news. I would also want to know if there was a chemical. Frankly a bfp doesn't mean all that much to me at this point, so I won't celebrate in either case. I just want to know what's going on.

This is 9dp5dt for me and I decided to POAS this morning and it gave me the result I was expecting- negative. I suppose there is some small chance that I could still have a positive beta (the doctors all cite examples) but I don't think it's the case with me because I have zero symptoms- I feel better/more normal than I felt since before I started the BCPs in December. I am glad I did the test and can start looking ahead at what's next- we will definitely be going for IVF#2 and hopefully we'll get more embryos so we can freeze some.

How soon can you POAS after ET? I thought I'd read somewhere that it takes the trigger 10 days to get out of your system (so for me, that would be 5dp5dt??)

I'm still on bcp for my upcoming cycle, but I can tell you that during my IVF last Summer, I caved and tested. I got a pretty clear bfp on 5dp5dt. However, after that, it started fading. This was still the trigger...so that was 12 days after I triggered. During my iui's I would test out the trigger and got bfp's until 13 or 14dpo. During my FET, I figured I would just pee on everything since I didn't use the trigger. Well, all that did was kill any hope that might have remained during the second half of my 2ww. I was upset to hear a bfn from my nurse, even knowing that is what it was going to be.
For me, I'd rather have a small ounce of hope during all of the 2ww. So, for our next IVF, we'll be beta or bust for sure. It will be hard, but otherwise, I'll either be depressed because it was negative or second guessing a positive test, thinking it is still my trigger. This is definitely a lose-lose for me!
But, you can all pee on tests and let me live through you! I love pushing stick peeing to others, just not doing it myself!

I have found myself obsessed with hpt testing & am not doing it this time! It is such an emotion swinger watching the HCG shot go away and hoping some little line will come back & then wondering if it will stay or not. I don't need to watch a chemical pg fade away before a beta test & get all excited to start crying a few days later.......No hpts for us this time! Now let's see if I can stick to it
