Boys names are so hard!

We are team green again and are once again struggling with boy names (luckily DD was a girl since we had no clue what we were going to name her had she been a he). I want to use my father's (and grandfather's and great-grandfather's, etc.) middle name, Williams, since it is a family name that keeps our connection to a historically significant relative (Roger Williams). Here are the current contenders. FYI - Just to give you an idea of our taste, DD's name is Nora and if we end up with a girl she'll be Caroline. Also, our last name is Sweeney.

If I didn't have a nephew named Benjamin it would be at the top of our list. I also LOVE William and it would be our boy name if I hadn't dated a d-bag named Will...

Sorry but, I really dislike how Williams ends in S and your last name begins with it. Does not sound nice IMO.

I actually like Benjamin the best, but I voted Finley because I think it goes better with Nora.  Both names are NMS, but they go best together.

My LN also starts with S, and we have avoided FN/MNs ending in S for that reason, but IMO family meaning trumps flow, and if honoring one of the founders of American religious freedom isn't a good reason to use a family name, then nothing is.

I voted for Benjamin.  I probably can't use it for various personal reasons, but I love it.

All the names are good. The 's' on William combined with your last name starting with S really doesn't flow well and he will be constantly correcting people that his middle name isn't just William. For your son's sanity consider just William. But, then again it is just a middle name so it won't come up too often.

Benjamin! I also really like Evan. Ugh, it is so cool that you are related to Roger Williams, he's one of my favorite early American historical figures. (Coming from a huge geek  who has things like favorite early American historical figures in the first place, of course!)

You can't go wrong with any name but I voted Finley, just cause I don't hear it often.

I voted for Benjamin. Nora & Ben/Benji/Benjamin just sounds so right! 

Evan and Ryan feel too contemporary with Nora. Connor was a close second for me but much prefer Benjamin!
