DH and I try to play cards together instead of turning on tv a time or two each week, and I am sick of kicking his butt at rummy! Rec your favorite card game for 2. Bonus point for linking to easy to follow rules.
Golf. I play it with my grandma all the time! I would like to play cribbage but I never remember the rules. https://www.pagat.com/draw/golf.html#six we play with six cards each.
Dominion & munchkin ( better with 4+) You would have to look them up. I don't know how to explain while on mobile ...too hard They are games not just the standard deck.
We got really into board games a few winters ago when the weather was so awful -- should probably pick that back up again, since we're going braindead from so much stupid TV.
Backgammon is a good one for two players, so is Scrabble.
Monopoly Deal is our fav! But we liked all of the board-games-turned-card-games that we've tried so far. They have card game versions of Monopoly, Life, Scrabble, Clue, and (I think) Battleship. It takes a while to get the hang of Monopoly Deal and to learn all the tricks, but once you've got the basics down, it plays really fast! Oh, and our kids love the card version of Fruit Ninja! Haha

Spit is fun too. https://www.pagat.com/patience/spit.html
(I"m just kidding, we don't actually do this, but in this cold weather, it might be a good idea!)
