Decaf Delight

I am totally going to litter the board with NIFR shenanigans :P

Ever since starting with my RE I have greatly cut back on caffeine (one small cup o joe a day) and quit pop (or as some say 'soda') all together. Since deciding to go the IVF route I have cut out all caffiene.

I have turned to caffeine free teas but I need more recommendations. Anyone have a amazing beverage that they concocted/found that is caffeine free? It can be hot or cold, bubbly or flat, brown or clear. But water doesn't count ;)

    Fizzy water/club soda isn't like regular water! It's magical and delicious. Plus you can add lemon, lime, or a splash of any juice.

    I am all for decaf mochas/lattes from Starbucks and if you like tea, Hartney and sons "hot cinammon sunset" is amazing and they have decaf on their website.
    TTC 2 years- Me and DH (28) with (severely) low sperm count- less than 40 total (last 2 SA showed only 5 and 6 sperm each)
    IVF #1: ER 1/23/13- 4 eggs retrieved, 3 eggs fertilized; ET with 1 embryo 1/28/13 2 frosties beta #1 2/5 was 4.8- beta #2 2/7 3.5; BFN
    FET #1- transferred one beautiful 4AA embie. Praying this is my take home baby. Beta 5/7/13- BFFN!!!
    IVF #2: ER 7/17/13: 6R/3F- transferred 1 blast and 1 10 cell embryo 5dt.   Beta hell.  #1 2.5, #2 2.2- BFFFN! REALLY?
    IVF #3: ER 12/1 and only 2 retrieved.  1 fertilized with ICSI.  Was planning on transferring one fresh and one frozen....fresh was only 14 cells at day 5...CANCELLED and devastated due to 5cm blood filled cyst in ovary and blood in uterus.
    IVF #4: Antagonist protocol with endometrial scratch day one of stims.  ER 4/21: 6R/4M/3F- transferred 2 beautiful blasts (5dt) and one was hatching!  No frosties but hoping we won't need it!  Beta 5/4/14- 444(8dp5dt), Beta #2 10dp5dt 1002!  THIS HAS GOT TO BE IT!!!!!!!!!!  First US 5/15 we saw two of the most beautiful gestational and yolk sacs I have ever seen!  
    ****FINALLY PREGNANT WITH DI/DI TWINS!!!!!!!  

    BRINLEY AND RILEY LONG.  Born November 20, 2014 at 32 wks 3 days.  4lbs7oz and 4lbs5oz.  1 month NICU time for "B's" and growing and feeding.  Now healthy, thriving, beautiful little girls!

    I was super sad giving up caffeine this cycle since we just got a keurig for Chrismas and I love all of the flavored coffee treat goodness. I've been drinking decaf coffee and trying out all different flavored creamers.  They're ok but just not the same.

    Last cycle (October) I drank apple cider by the gallon.  It was literally the only thing that sounded good to drink.  I was at Walmart and picked up a bottle of "Apple Pie" juice, thinking it might hit the spot.  It was a little disappointing.  It tastes like watered down Apple juice with a hint of cinnamon and vanilla.

    This cycle I've been drinking sprite/Sierra mist, juice, and it bought some lemonade mix.

    DH (32): SA is ok, slightly low morph, normal SCSA  Me (32): Slightly low progesterone, hostile CM, carrier for CF, Moderately high NKC, High TNFa, heterozyogous mutated Factor XIII, and +APA

    October 2012-May 2014: 4 failed IUIs, 3 failed IVFs, and 1 failed FETw/donor embryos

    November 2014: IVF w/ICSI #4 Agonist/Antagonist with EPP and Prednisone, Baby Aspirin, Lovenox, and IVIG for immune issues.  Converted to freeze all due to lining issues.  2 blasts frozen on day 6!

    January 2015: FET #2 Cancelled due to lining issues

    April 2015: FET #2.1

    I didn't completely give up coffee either. I've been drinking Newman's Own Decaf because they use the chemical-free Swiss water process.

    My favorite caffeine/alcohol free drink is limonada con soda. It's just lime juice, club soda, and simple syrup, but sometimes I'll make it without sugar.

    Decaf mint tea is my jam these days. If I'm feeling really wild I'll throw in some agave nectar. I've also been into cranberry juice but I can't drink the full sugar stuff straight so I cut it with fizzy water and maybe a lime if I want to feel like I'm at a resort and not on my couch.

    Starbucks will make anything you want using decaf... I drank way too much Starbucks while cycling.. Lipton has an instant iced tea - Passionfruit coconut... It wasn't made with bad sweeteners, still diet and had 5mg of caffeine.. I drank it with hot water, like sweetened normal tea..

    It almost feels like you're having a margarita! 



    But not really. It's still a delicious treat though.

    Male Factor (severe oligospermia) 
    IVF#1-December 2013: Conversion Protocol @ SIRM, Canceled on day 10 of stims due to poor response
    IVF#2- February 2014:  Estrogen Priming Conversion Protocol @ SIRM (ER 2/22: (9R, 7M, 4F, All arrested, nothing to trasnfer)
    IUI#1-May 28, 2014- 100mg clomid, HCG Trigger, 100mg progesterone oral--BFN
    IUI#2-June 24, 2014- non medicated, HCG 2,500mg x 4 doses (over a week), Endometrium- BFN
    Suprise BFP- September 1, 2014- miscarriage at 5 weeks.

    Vodka? It's caffeine-free, low sugar, and doesn't have weird dyes!

    I love iced tea. But I'm Canadian, so our version is a little different. And more delicious. I also really like banana/blueberry smoothies!



    Side note: I thought I was the only one whose black panties would get that weird bleached spot! TB has once again taught me the ways of the world.

    I love MIO things.  You just squirt it into your water.  Delicious.  I have a SodaStream and make carbonated water and add MIO to it as well.  Even more delicious. 

    Decaf never quite cuts it for me, but I do like Larry's Beans decaf Espresso and Twilight blends. 

    Crio Bru Cavalla is also a decent substitute for coffee or tea. You brew it just like coffee, but it is made from ground cocoa beans so has a chocolatey taste, but not like hot cocoa.

    Lap in 2012 to remove large unresolving cyst discovered endo and double lobed ovary.
     6 Gonal-F, Cetrotide, HcG, Crinone IUI cycles= All BFN,
    1st IVF w/ICSI- June '13 Antagonist: Gonal-F, Menopur, Ganirelix, HcG, Estradiol, Crinone= 7 retrieved, 4 mature, 1 unfertilized, 2 abnormally fertilized, 1 normally fertilized.  2DT of only embryo and our miracle BFP.
    Our beloved baby boy was born sleeping Oct. 13, 2013 due to pROM/IC/Uterine infection.
    2nd IVF w/ICSI- Feb. '14 EPP/lupron/antagonist: Estrace, lupron, HGH, Gonal-F, Menopur, HcG, PIO, lovenox, doxy/dex.=21 retrieved, 16 mature, 15 fertilized!!  5dt of 1 blast/ 6 frozen. BFP!  Beta 1 9dp5dt:83.9  Beta 2: 11dp5dt: 145.2  Beta 3  14dp5dt: 497  Please be our sticky rainbow baby!

    Republic tea makes a good decaf apricot tea. I make iced tea with it... Might be a southern thing. ;)

    I'm a big fan of diluted fruit juice. Full strength is too sweet for me. If you dilute something fancy like cherry juice with a seltzer you can put it in a wine glass and call it a mocktail (looks just like wine!). We also make our own electrolyte drinks with fresh lemon, lime, and/or orange juice, sea salt, and simple syrup to taste. As a PP said it's cider season. If you live in Wegmans territory they have gallons of it pretty cheap all winter long. I like it hot and cold.

    And tea, tea, and more tea of course. :)

    I like it! I brew it super strong (like twice the amount) and add heated almond milk for a sort of "mocha latte" feel. I have only tried the one I linked to since that's all they carry at my local health food store, but I'm definitely going to look into the others!

    I splurge on Sanpeligrino (sp?) for the 2WW. The blood orange is my fav! You can usually find it in the pop aisle by the sparkling water.

    I'm feel lame...I don't drink coffee....I know I know...I just can't even stand the smell of it.  Also, don't do tea, cider, sparkling anything.  My beverage options are pretty limited to my pickiness.  I stopped all pop/soda when I thought we were doing IVF but then when we switched to IUI, I got depressed and started drinking Sprite or Root Beer.  It's still caffeine free right!  Although, I did have two small glasses of Pepsi throughout this 2ww.
