Can anyone recommend a really moisturizing lotion, mainly for the face? My ds has a fee patches of eczema on his body. His face is always really rosy and dry. He gets that from my dh though. He also has sensitive skin from me. I have been using dove sensitive soap and then I bought babyGanics lotion and soap. Not noticing a difference though.
Any thoughts or ideas?
@reece0099 I suffer with a mild case of eczema (sometimes not so mild) and extremely dry and sensitive skin, esp during winter. SEBAMed (sold in Costco) has been amazing and also Mustella (Stelatopia) line. (see links) Seriously, they may be a little pricey but so worth it and lasts a long time.
Also check out the National Eczema Assocation for helpful tips. GL!! I know how frustrating and exhausting dealing with sensitive/dry skin can be. https://nationaleczema.org/
I use mostly aquaphor, and sometimes aveeno lotion for DS. He gets dry red patches around his mouth when it is really cold. I try to lay a think coat of aquaphor in the area before we leave the house to protect it, and at night to re-moisturize.
I have eczema and aquaphor absolutely does NOT work for me, so it is very interesting that different things work for different people!
DS doesn't have eczema, but he inherited my super sensitive dry skin. As soon as it is cold out, we both turn dry and scaly. We were using Aveeno Eczema on his body and it wasn't helping, our pedi said that there is an ingredient in it that actually dries out the skin even more. She suggested that we use plain old vaseline right after his bath, that way it locks in the moisture. And aquaphor on his rosy cheeks. Both helped a lot!
We have used this Aveeno oatmeal bath stuff, too, but there is a Walgreen's brand, Studio 35, that is 100% oatmeal (as opposed to 43% in Aveeno) and is cheaper, esp. if you get it on sale. 8 packets for $6.50 (I think $4 on sale with your rewards card right now). We mostly use that now. Of course, nothing has made much difference in DS's eczema, but the cheaper brand might be worth a try at least.

I've also heard good things about coconut oil applied to the skin. I'm starting to use it this week.
