Seven Slings Original Sling?

Hey -
I'm due to have LO#2 later this week :-)  Has anyone here purchased an "original" sling or any sling for that matter from Seven Slings?  They look cool and I have a gift card....so very little $$ for me.  However, I don't want to purchase anything that would just be sitting around.  With LO#1, I used the Ergo to carry her whenever I needed both hands etc.  The sling looks like it would be easier to put on etc.
Thoughts??

Lurker here. I haven't tried them, but I found a code to get one for free on their website and used it last night! If you use FFfeb, you just have to pay shipping. For that price, I thought it was worth a try even though I haven't heard how well they work.

I did read somewhere though that they have no problem giving away your info, so keep that in mind.

It's complete junk. I have one and will not use it for DS at all. It is very poor quality. I only kept it because the cat likes to be carried around in it when we go for walks and it's cold.

I don't have any specific suggestions as far as a sling type carrier goes (we use an Ergo), but the Seven Slings one in particular is garbage.

I have one also. Have only used it twice maybe because I'm not too fond of it. For newborns it seems too thick if that make sense. My lo had like six inches of extra fabric flopping over in her face. I'm keeping to see if it works better for the different carrying positions when she's older

That's really funny....the cat liking it :-)  Thanks!

I tried on a Maya something ring sling and it was really nice. Look into those. I also recommend an Ergo, I love mine. Try to find some babywearing facebook pages.

The company is a scam. Their crap (the sling, the nursing cover, the nursing pillow, the car seat cover, etc.) is ALWAYS free. And the quality is so poor, it's not worth the cost of shipping. And a few people have reported their credit cards numbers were stolen after ordering from that company.

Thanks for this! Good to know, and I will avoid them in the future!

Also, @cagoldi, I love that you carry your cat in a sling. That is amazing.

I hate mine. I didn't even get LO all the way into it before deciding that it sucked. I have a baby katan and I love it. I also have an ergo but haven't tried it yet, LO loves the katan so much that I haven't wanted to try anything else yet.

completely agree.  I gave it to DS1 so he could throw his trucks in it.

I like all of the creative ideas for using this stupid, fabric tube!

I thankfully got mine from Goodwill, and my DS HATES IT!!! Besides the fact that I felt like I was being choked while trying to get it on. So glad I only spent like $3 for it

Same here. Used it maybe twice, felt like LO was going to suffocate.
I have since bought a used Baby bjorn, and it's not bad. Though I have been
told an Ergo is the way to go!

Crap, I just ordered this thing and now I think I'm going to have to cancel my credit card before my info gets stolen. Ugh! At least I didn't also order the free Nursing pillow, udder cover and carseat canopy that were also on the same coupon. Maybe my other daughter can use it as a bag, like the poster who uses it for her son's trucks. maybe a sweater for my dog? lol

I guess I am in the minority here.  I just started using my sling in the last week & my little one liked it.  She fell asleep in it.  I used it while walking the dog.  I also bought the nursing cover for myself & a friend.  I enjoy the sling.  My husband really likes the canopy cover we ordered.
