Very sad story inside (child loss mentioned), request for T&P

As most of you know I am an active member of the GBCN community which spun off from the nest after some drama. A very long time poster has been through a devastating family tragedy and will be losing her three year old daughter very shortly. Please consider praying for this family or a small donation towards her medical expenses, funeral, and time off from work for the family. I do not know this poster well but many, many posters that I know well including IRL have vouched for this terrible story.

Story summary:

On January 14th, happy, healthy three year old Elise started vomiting and complaining of a head ache.

12 hours later she was being airlifted to Children's Hospital Colorado to repair a perforation of the intestine. Because she went into cardiac arrest several times over the course of the flight and surgery, there was concern of significant brain damage.

Following an MRI Friday evening, this morning (1/18) Lily wrote:

We are letting her go peacefully. There is no hope that she is still in there. Every part of her brain has been effected. We will be donating pieces of her life so others may live. Say a prayer of peace for us and one for a quick transition for my girl. Thank you so much for everything. You are all in my heart.

GBCN stands for goodbye cruel nest. It was a Proboards site established when a bunch of the nest regulars got fed up with idiotic site changes. pixy is the moderator of the Current Events and Politics group. She also was a regular nestie and bumpie for years. Many of her updates are posted there:

Ha! That was all I could think of that GBCN could stand for, but it didn't make sense that there was a whole community.

Again, my thoughts are with that family. I cannot even fathom.

I have lurked GBCN before, and I saw this on Parenting. Between this and Reese (DD of a reg on Parenting who was just diagnosed with Leukemia) it has been one hell of a week. I can't even. My heart hurts so very badly.

I am a lurker over there and have been following the story. Dh and I are devastated for them. I was talking with ds1 and dd today as they were discussing the past Christmas. And I realized that those memories they have of there little girls last Christmas will be so cherished and so painful. I have said a lot of prayers for them these last couple of days.

Yesterday dd told me that each little baby born is so special because our time being alive is so short. She has no idea how timely those words were. Boy do we need to remember how quickly things can change.
