Reflux medicine is working!

My LO was diagnosed with reflux last week. At first I thought he was going through the 6 week growth spurt ( cranky, eating all the time and not sleeping )but after it not going away after 3 weeks I called his doctor.
She listens to him cry over the phone and told me he was in pain ( I felt like a terrible mother for not noticing).
He was put on medication on Friday and today I feel like I have a new baby! He only woke up every 3 hours at night, and seems over all happier !
I just wanted to write this because I know there are other moms here going through the same thing.

So glad he's better my LO seems to have reflux too but I'm not sure. The past week he's had all the same symptoms you describe. So frustrating not knowing!

I know how you feel, I was crying with him before knowing what he had. He also had bad breath, would cry after every feeding and he would cry even more after burping or spitting up. I am also on a dairy and nut free diet, I guess it is also helping him

Same here I couldn't tell if my LO was hitting the 6 week growth spurt or if his reflux was worse. (Doc said he had slight reflux when he was born.) It was actually both. Since starting the meds on Tuesday I can see a difference. He isn't crying on pain after he eats anymore! I am so happy to have my happy baby back.

ScarlettV - when I called the doc about his pains getting worse he said the meds he was prescribing wouldn't hurt him at all. I am so glad he is on them. He is almost never in pain now.

I'm glad everything is better for your LOs! I might just call the pedi. I hate to take him in again, the place is always full of sick kiddos. >.< but I don't want him to suffer if that's the issue.
