On Monday, we found out we are having twins. The news is still sinking in. I’m excited and extremely nervous! I have 2 sons, 3 and 7. I’m worried about how we are going to manage 4 kids. Our lives are going to change so much – Yikes! I have lots of questions, so I will be frequenting this form. What resources (books or websites) did you find most helpful when you first learned you were having multiples?

  • Congratulations!! You can do it!  One book I found really helpful was "What to Expect when You're Expecting Twins, Triplets..."  The information in there is REALLY helpful about the science behind twins and how different pregnancy is from a singleton (you really have to listen to your body this time).  Good luck!

  • Congratulations!  I am in a similar position with the twins being #3 and #4.  "What to Expect when You're Expecting Twins, Triplets" is a really good resource book as the PP already stated.  I also got "Dad's Guide to Twins: How to Survive the Twin Pregnancy and Prepare for Your Twin" for my husband as he was having a hard time accepting twins.  The author has two older children in addition to the twins.

  • Welcome! And what they said as far as the book!
  • Welcome and congrats!! I can relate to the shock because I have 3 boys, so this will be #4 and #5. Not even sure what life will be like once they are here but I am excited and just taking it a day at a time.  I have Dr. Luke's book on twins https://www.drbarbaraluke.com/books/Expecting.aspx
It is pretty good. Worth reading at least. Some of the dietary recommendations are a bit impractical but overall good information and helpful.

As much as I love thebump, there are alot of twin groups on the babycenter boards. One of the moderators compiled a spreadsheet with all the info from the moms about when they gave birth etc. It is very interesting: https://community.babycenter.com/post/a40528891/excel_spreadsheet_stats_part_2
