Mastitis :( Are you fing kidding me???

After three months of fighting thrush, blocked ducts, low supply I now have Fing mastitis!!!  And its got the red streaks so I'm going to have to go on antibiotics.  If I get thrush again I'm chopping my damn boobs off.  God it had just gotten easy :( I'm so mad right now.

  • Sorry to hear that!  I hope you get better quickly.  I got a clogged duct for the first time two weeks ago and was in so much pain.  I can't imagine mastitis.

  • I'm so sorry you're having to go through the pain and discomfort of mastitis.  I've had it twice, and it's just awful.  Stay really hydrated and get as much rest as possible.  Watch out for fever and flu-like symptoms, they knocked me down hard and seemed to come out of nowhere.  I hope you feel better soon. Hugs.

  • Get those antibiotics! As soon as I started them I started to feel better. It stinks!!!! I also had frequent clogged ducts, and found that I really had to stay on top of them & fix them right away so it wouldn't turn into mastitis. Once you go through it once, you don't want it again!!

  • I'm sorry. :( I had thrush and right when it was clearing up got mastitis. It was the worse. I remember crying while feeding DD because it hurt so much and telling DH that I'd rather go through labor again than have mastitis.

I hope it clears up soon! A day or two of the antibiotics and you should feel so much better.

  • I just got off of antibiotics for a breast infection (not exactly mastitis, but similar) and now DS and I both have thrush.  It sucks.  I'm sorry.  Sad  Take probiotics while you're on antibiotics to protect both you and DD - Culturelle is a really good one - sold at CVS.

  • You poor thing!  Mastitis was seriously one of the most painful things I've ever experienced....and I felt like I had the flu on top of it.  I'm sure the doc told you but hot compresses really help, and pumping after feeding while leaning over helped too...just making sure you get all the milk out of there really makes it more comfortable.
