Shocked! (newbie intro)

I'm in totally shock after getting my BFP last yesterday at only 7dpo and confirmed it again this morning. DH and I tried on our own for about a year (sort of). throughout traking I found out that I had only ovulated twice in a year so it didn't give us much of a chance to try on our own. So after getting thoroughly frustrated, we went to an RE and started treatment. I never expected it to work on the first try and am floored to find out this early. It definatly hasn't sunk in yet but i wanted to tell someone, since I'd like to wait at least until we see the doctor to tell anyone else.

Sounds like we're kind of in the same boat! We started with an RE in Sept. and got our BFP this past Wednesday on our 2nd IUI try. Cannot believe it worked so quickly! FX for both of us for a H&H 9 months!

I was just curious if you did any kind of ovulation trigger shot such as ovidrel?  If so you can get a false positive until the trigger is our of your system.  My RE told me not to test for 15 days after taking the trigger.  I'm not trying to be a negative nelly but you didn't not that in your siggy so I wanted to make sure if you did a trigger you were aware of that.

Yes I did take ovidrel. Bummer I didn't realize that. Thanks for the info. The doctor did tell me to wait 15 days but Didn't tell me that was why. I really wanted to wait to test but I caved because I felt so sick after I ate yesterday and again on and off today, which seemed odd to me. I suppose I'll just have to wait until this weekend to retest so I can really see.

I hope that you still get your BFP!  Just being an IF person myself I didn't want you to get your hopes up.  You could call your RE today to see if you can do blood work but I assume they will make you wait.  The Trouble TTC Board is a great resource when you are doing fertility treatments.  Some girls test our the trigger so the test daily until they get a negative so they know it is out of their system.

Thanks me to I guess I can only hope that by some miricle that it was implantation sickness, but maybe I just had a bug. I've been feeling fine since last night. I think I'll just wait it out a few more days. No sense in asking the doc for blood work this early
