*UPDATE* I received such wonderful feedback I wanted to give you ladies an update. I did a series of HCG tests following my first very low number. My levels came back as doubling beautifully in 48 hours. I started at 71. They went to 1200 in 6 days and 2400 2 days later. After reaching 2400 I was able to see the gestational sac and yolk sac. My doctor said I must be even earlier than we thought, possibly 5 weeks and a few days. I will know more next week when we go back to see the heartbeat. It has been a very scary week and I am so happy to have crossed this hurdle. Thank you, again, for your feedback and kindness. Happy and healthy 9 months to all! *UPDATE*
Hello, ladies. I was hoping to get some feedback on what is going on with my pregnancy. This is my second pregnancy. My daughter was stillborn last year. At 4 weeks 1 Day I had my first ultrasound. There was no gestational sac and my HCG came back at 71. Went in again yesterday at 5 weeks. The ultrasound showed nothing. I had my HCG drawn, will go again Friday and again Monday. Hoping my numbers are doubling. My doctor said he thought I was going to either miscarry or the pregnancy was ectopic. He gave me a 10% chance of a healthy pregnancy. I have read that you can't see the gestational sac until HCG is approximately 1,000-2,000. I wonder, though, at what week you should see something? I use the clearblue fertility monitor, so I am fairly sure of my ovulation date. I am trying to hold onto hope. Maybe it was just too early. I won't know the results from my HCG until Monday. Any experience out there? Thank you.

My RE won't even schedule an ultrasound until betas hit 2K because the likelihood of seeing anything before that is so small. Hopefully you're betas come back with good doubling times & this was just waaay to early. FX for you!
I had an ultrasound at 4 weeks 3 days and they saw nothing .. As they expected but they were checking to see if anything looked wrong or off because I had some spotting. I've had my hcg levels checked and will have an ultrasound at 6 weeks where they should see something. I hope that helps!
Thank you for your kind words. I will keep that in mind & keep reassuring myself. I am hoping it was just too early. I hope you have a healthy ultrasound!

dani0783, thanks for your message. I was spotting, as well, which is why my Doctor had me come in so early. Another hard part is they go by LMP, but I don't ovulate until CD 21. I explained that to him, but he said even taking it into account it doesn't look good. They have me down as 6 weeks. I am only 5. My thoughts are with you for your next ultrasound!

Another set of FX that it was just too early. My first pregnancy, nothing was visible via ultrasound until after I hit the six week mark. Thoughts and prayers to you.
Damasked, brittneyandadam and vikingmom806, thank you so much for some reassurance. I appreicate hearing your stories. I am hoping that I will have some more answers in the next week and this little one can make it's appearance. Thank you for sharing and your well wishes!

1983lindsey, I have not gotten my 5 week levels back yet. I go in today for another blood test and Monday as well. My OB told me that he needs Wednesdays (5 wks) and Fridays (5 wks 2 days) as well to compare, so to not bother worrying about Wednesdays alone. I am trying to remain patient, but I am so curious as to what they came out as. I wont hear from him until Monday, and that will just be for my betas, not an ultrasound. Assuming he will pull me in for an ultrasound after that. If they are doubling, they should be over 2,000 by Monday. All my Doctor said was that my HCG was low and they should've seen something on the ultrasound by now. He offered no other explanation, unless there is something I do not know. I am trying not to worry since I know if this is a healthy pregnancy, stress is terrible for us and the baby. Thank you so much!
