So excited! Starting to pick out paint for nursery!

Unfortunately we won't be able to start out nursery until after the baby is born

We're having a house built and it wont be done for about another year.. ( land needs to be cleared, electricity water and all that needs to be done on top of just having the house built)

Congrats though and have fun!!

We're going to look at paint this weekend & plan to have the room painted next month. I'm 19 weeks tomorrow.

I'm picking the paint this week, and then the weekend after this one, I'm having a few friends over to help paint (I'm on modified bedrest so I'm not allowed to)

I can't wait until we get our a/s.  Last year we were in the process of buying a home and we only moved in 3 weeks prior to DD being born.. Not much time to set up a functioning home, much less a nursery!!

We bought a house with a pink room already painted... But I am changing it to yellow . That way I can just accent with pink or blue. 16 weeks today, can't wait till anatomy scan!

I am so excited to get the nursery started but we are finishing our basement so i have to wait till that is done so i can move the guest bedroom furniture downstairs to the new guest room.  We find out what we are having next week so i am hoping to get started after that...at least with picking our bedding and  a theme!!!

I started just a few weeks ago! I went and bought the paint... And then let a can of paint sit on the floor for the next few weeks haha. I went to Houston to visit my sister last week and came home to find that my husband had beautifully painted the nursery :-) With only a little over 7 weeks left until the due date, we are planning on finishing everything this weekend and I'm so excited!!

After the baby is born, essentially, since we're Team Green.

Right now the room is a grey'ish lavender from when DD occupied it.  If it's a girl, great- she will inherit all DD's nursery and baby stuff.  If it's a boy, we'll have to paint but he'll inherit all of DS's nursery and baby stuff.  Love this opportunity to recycle at least 1 of their stuff!

Nice! I am not excited this time around to decorate since I'm so tired but DH already painted the room so now waiting on all my decals to arrive from etsy. As far as furniture goes..who knows when I will put it in the room since DS is still using it.

@mcgeeva - I have looked at those decals on etsy and they are so cute! Will you let me know how well yours look/stick to the wall and what type of paint finish you used? (Satin/eggshell/etc)? I hope your nursery looks awesome

@jmknox We've used this shop for decals around the house, and we were really happy with them. Been over a year and they still look great. (I actually ruined one of mine putting it up and they sent me a replacement one at no cost.) We have typical textured walls with satin paint.

jmknox we use flag paint for all of our walls. This is a pick from ds' room. We also ordered decals from etsy and they were easy to do, everyone thought I painted it because it doesn't come out looking like a sticker but part of the wall. The next ones I ordered are a koala thing for our next son with a few zoo animals.



We just moved so had to do a big boy
room with just a simple decal now.

@mcgeeva & @JKGordon - thanks! Lol I was just about to ask what "flag" paint was . The pictures are so pretty! You've given me a ton of inspiration. Now all I have to do is wait to find out what we are having so I can get with it... 3-4 more weeks.

So exciting! I am waiting to paint the nursery in the Spring when the weather is warmer to air out the room from fumes etc. I will hire someone to paint the nursery since I will be to preggo and clumsy to stand on a latter. The room will have white walls but no baby decals or baby theme. Something simple and maintence free, plus I don't want to fuss about changing the decor after a year or two. I will hang my colorful paintings which is enough.

I'm so excited too can't wait until I actually start working on the nursery, I made two boards on pinterest an "it's a girl!" and an "it's a boy" and planned out two nurseries. I already have some left over light grey paint that I think I will use for either nursery. My OB will try to see if it's a girl or a boy in about 10 days! can't wait
