  • Dear dd,
I can't believe you're going to be three. I feel like you (and I!) have lived 50 years in that time with all you've been through. the fact that in such a short time you've lived through malnourishment from celiac disease, a traumatic brain injury, hypotonia, undiagnosed seizures, hearing problems, sleep apnea, surgery, hospital stays, countless specialist visits and managed to continue to flourish with a permanent smile on your face is nothing short of miraculous. Keep amazing the people who underestimate you. I couldn't be prouder to be your mama and you're the very best thing to happen to our family.
    Love,
    Mama

    Dear Autism Preschool teacher,

Today is day 4 of back to school from winter break. It has been a very hard school year so far since we are mid year with our little disagreements between us.

On Tuesday's daily report you complained about DS's shoes being worn out. You even suggested laces. He is 4! You cut off Friday classes because you had no time to clean the classroom or lesson plan or to attend trainings, I doubt you have time to tie DS's shoe laces plus the rest of the class! I was going to respond in the report but everything that came out of my mouth was snarky or sarcastic. DH told me to ignore unless you asked again.

DH and I inspected DS's shoes. There were no holes and velcro still works. The only time we would buy shoes is if DS outgrows them or has holes in them.

You called me and exclaimed that DS kicks his shoes off when he has a fit and his shoes pops off when he runs. You then suggested the laces again. I told you I doubt you have time to tie shoes and you suggested 2 times for laces afterwards. You have time to tie laces! You know what? Velcro makes my life easier because I have to work for my family and I am not going to buy laced shoes until DS is 7 or 8!

You are lucky I had an ugly new pair of velcro shoes from MIL in our closet and sent DS to school with them on.

I am still foaming at the mouth!

That mom that will have to meet you tomorrow

    Dear Extended Family,

Can we keep the crisises to one at a time, there's only one of me. I can't physically be two places at once and the general balancing of the two and my immediate family's needs is unpleasant.

    Sincerely,

The lady who is very happy her own little family is rocking along.

    Dear Psych,

I really needed that appointment today. The talk about boundary setting setting helped.

    Thanks,

  • Dear Cold,

GTFO of my son. It is hard enough with à kid that cant talk much without throwing in him waking up scared (cant breathe) and a double ear infection. Super fun at Urgent Care to deal with docs that side eyed me when i said he doesnt talk yet. And eff you for getting me sick, too.

  • Dear DH,

I'm sorry for being such a crankypants this week.  Thank you for recognizing how burnt out I am and for telling your boss you needed to work a half-day today to help out at home.  I'll feel a lot better if we can get some cleaning/preparations done for the new baby.

    Love,
    Me

    Dear Mom,

Do you have to sound like a total stressball every time I say anything about baby #3?  Everything is fine.  No, they are not talking about inducing me early.  I know I'm AMA, but my uterus is not a ticking time bomb.  Chill.

  • Dear DH,
Thank you for sleeping in DD's room all week and holding her so she could sleep while severely congested. I loved listening to you play and sing her music from various Pandora stations. I especially loved when she clapped along to Bohemian Rhapsody, while not my personal choice for a lullaby, you totally made it work. I fall more in love with you every day.

Thank you for letting me get sleep.
    Love,
    Your Wife
