baby moving

hey, this is my first pregnancy and I felt my baby move for the first time yesterday afternoon.  it was so beautiful.  I was just wondering how often is baby supposed to move?  I'm 17 weeks pregnant.

Re: baby moving

  • You won't feel it regularly in the beginning but you will in mid to late second trimester!

  • Yesterday, I didn't really feel the baby move at all. Day before that, it was moving around like crazy. (ie, I felt it like, 5 times. So, not really crazy at all.) Not really kicks yet, though. Just vague, non-specific movement. It's weird.

    I am also 17 weeks.

  • I'm also 17w and I have been feeling a bit in the late mornings and evenings most days this week... But I've also been snowed in for five days, so not a lot else on my mind!
  • I am 19 weeks FTM & have not felt him yet. Iwwas worried, but we had our a/s on Tuesday & he was doing back flips. I can't believe I don't feel it.

  • I've only felt the baby move 3 times in the last 2 wks and 2 of them I had to concentrate of what I was feeling. Baby is still really small now so don't worry
  • I'm 18w4d and have felt taps in there a few times the last week, mostly in the afternoon after I eat lunch.  Some days I feel nothing though.  Went to the OB Monday and she said it was rare to feel anything this early and not to worry if I only feel things speradically.

between 17 and 20 weeks are baby's most active weeks, but you won't necessarily feel it all. Its my second time around and I still have days where I feel nothing and then days when baby is tap dancing in there. Its all about baby's position and since he's still got room, there are lots of places he could kick that you wouldn't feel.

It should get more consistent from 20ish weeks on but even that's not always the case. The more baby grows, the more you feel  :)

  • I only just started to feel mine move a few days ago and I'm 19 weeks. We had our AS the other day and my mom came with us. Baby was moving all over the place and my mom asked if I could feel it. I couldn't!

  • I'm 19.2 weeks and I feel baby boy kick from time to time but not all day just sometimes, mostly if I'm laying down. The gentile flutters are becoming stronger and turning into tiny kicks. You will start to feel it more in the next few weeks. :)
  • 18 weeks and feel her sporadically. But on the days I don't, I don't worry. She feels like a tiny vibrating hamster.

  • I'm almost 20 weeks I feel kicks more now than before. Sometime I felt them other days I didn't. Once you get farther along you'll feel the baby a lot more.
