I am 18 weeks and my anatomy scan scheduled for next week. Can someone explain this to me? Is it an internal ultrasound or just a in depth regular ultrasound?
It's not an internal ultrasound, just transabdominal, though some of the ladies on my BMB have said they ended up needing an internal as well to get cervix length measurements.
They look at the baby's entire anatomy and take make measurements to ensure that everything is developing appropriately. That is also the time that they can identify the sex, if you want to find out.
