3 wheels or 4?

Hi Ladies,
Does any one have some thoughts to share on four-wheeled strollers versus three-wheeled?  I realize it depends on what the stroller is going to be used for.

1.  Ours would primarily be for easy terrain - paved sidewalks, malls, etc.
2.  We are not big outdoorsy people and live in the suburbs.
3.  Neither of us are runners.
4.  We drive a Toyota Venza.

Thanks for sharing any ideas!

  • In that case I would go with whichever you like best. Find a store and take them for a spin. Our sidewalks tend to be broken up and/or have gravel on them so the larger bicycle style tires are a big help for us. We also do "off road" things like going to the fair, tractor pulls and such.

This, exactly!  We have a Jeep all terrain stroller because we use it outdoors a lot.  The first time I used it with my son I was like man this thing handles niiiiiiice.  Just go in and test a few out to see what you like.  One thing that I'm learning now that my son is a bit older is that the Jeep stroller doesn't sit upright that far and it bothers my son when he's trying to look out.  It was nice for when he was an infant because we could use the car seat in it, then when he was a bit older he would a lot of times sleep in it but now he really wants to be right in the action and it's not too conducive to that.  Just some experience that I've had to help with your decision :)

  • Do you get a lot of snow? The 3-wheel strollers are nice for the snow. Otherwise, you don't really need a 3-wheel so it's just a matter of what you like best.

  • We do get a lot of snow. That's a great point I hadn't thought of. Thanks everyone for weighing in.
  • I've also heard the 3 wheel ones are easier to maneuver around like in stores and what not.
