How to get bb to sleep in crib?

Hi ladies, first night home from the hospital and bb girl doesn't wanna sleep anywhere but in our arms. She slept fine in her bassinet at the hospital but she just won't sleep in her crib.
We have a rock n sleep but she doesn't really like it much.
I also feed her all the time but whenever I put her down after she's fallen asleep, she wakes up 5min later.
Help :( I'm exhausted.

  • I honestly can't tell if this is sincere. OP, if you are truly asking for advice, I'd love to help, but there's been a TON of posts about this issue in the last two days, with me getting bashed for suggesting the same techniques each time.

Let me know if you're legit.

  • What PP said.  We basically carried her around for most of the first few weeks, except for at night when we swaddled her and had her in the co-sleeper side-carred to the bed.  No lie, it was rough for a while when she was waking up every hour or so to eat, and needed 20 minutes to finish eating, meaning I was sleeping in 30 minute chunks if I was lucky; I remember once clawing at my face to stay awake enough to feed her at night without falling asleep on her or dropping her or something.

    But it does get better.

And if your baby's not full-on crying when she's swaddled and in the crib, it's okay for her to be awake.  She might make a lot of weird sounds - mewls, roars, grunts - but that's okay.  She's safe; you can sleep.

  • This is going to sound harsh, but...you think you are exhausted now? The next few week will show you a level of exhaustion you never knew you could feel. It is really hard, and sometimes you will breakdown, but it does get better!

As for putting baby in the crib, forget about that for a few weeks (or longer) just let her sleep where she is most comfortable. Good luck!
