Napping vs Nights

We've had glorious napping success since employing EASY and watching how long we let LO stay awake. But it has coincided with reduced sleep overnight.

He was going 5 and even 7 hours before. Once we started this nap routine, he's gone back to 2.5 hours or fewer at a time over night.

Could be complete coincidence, but wondered if anyone else doing this had noticed the same. It may be worth it up have some sanity in my day during maternity leave, but I'm gonna want those 5-hour stretches back when I'm at work!

Re: Napping vs Nights

  • He's just over 7 weeks so I'm hoping it's the 8-9 wonder week. He's been in a great mood during the days though so I can't decide. Eating about the same.

  • What is purple crying? I've seen it mentioned before and I have no idea what y'all mean by that lol.
  • P- peak of crying.. Gradually increase of crying over the weeks
U- unexpected. Comes out of no where for no reason usually at night.
R- resists soothing- no matter what u do, the tears keep comming.
P- painlike face- you will probably think your child is in excrutiating pain.. They are not. ( just double check everything first )
L- long lasting- they can purple cry for 3-5 hours straight
E- evening- usually happens late afternoon or night time..

No.  Been doing EASY everyday since she's been staying awake for longer than 5 minutes after a feed.  She still only wakes once per night.

ETA:  I will add that we hit the 6-8 week growth spurt at the same time we hit the beginning of the wonder weeks.  She was pretty inconsolable for 3 days, but returned to her usual self after that.
