Blue veins, anyone?

I am 4 weeks, 5 days pregnant. I have noticed the blue veins on my boobs since even before my positive HPT. However, today I noticed similar blue veins on the side of my hip/abdomen. I am extremely paranoid about pregnancy and determining if something is the result of the PIO/crinone and Estradiol OR pregnancy has been a challenge. Do you know what causes the visible veins? They aren't varicose veins that pop out, they are just much more visible under my skin. I read somewhere that it's due to progesterone, but somewhere else that it's due to increased blood supply.

Re: Blue veins, anyone?

  • its from the increased blood supply. my skin is pretty much see through when it comes to that before I even got pregnant, the ones on my upper chest, hands, arms, legs, some of them are very visible it's spooky but I didn't see any increase of how visible they are, maybe because they are already very visible

  • ^ That. I normally have very visible veins, but at the beginning of my pregnancy I was nothing but veins. Like seriously, veins everywhere.

  • Yep, that's normal. It freaks me out on my boobs...makes them look so weird.
  • I was born with translucent skin and blue veins. I'm a mosquito's wet dream. Then again, I am a ginger...
