Mac/Mack

Do you think Mac works as a stand alone name? I like it as a nn for Malcolm, but H doesn't care for Malcolm. I don't like any other full name options that I come up with (such as surnames beginning with Mc). Oh, except for Cormac, which I love.

I lean towards its a nn only. Wonder what others think.

    It doesn't bother me as a stand-alone, but I prefer it as a NN.

    I really think it's nn only material. I will say that one of my uncles in called Mack, but his name is James, so, I don't think it has to come from anywhere in particular. I do like Malcolm, though.

    Hysteroscopy/Lap--8/4/14 - Tubes unblocked. Polyps removed from uterine wall. Septum removed.
     9/30/14--Off the bench! Unmedicated TI through December 2014
    BFP 12/14/14!!! Beta #1, 12/16: 990 Beta #2, 12/18: Over 2000! Beta #3, 12/22: over 8000!
     U/S #1, 12/23: gestational sac, possible heartbeat
    U/S #2, 12/30: HEARTBEAT! 128bpm, measuring right on at 7w EDD: 8/19/2015
    U/S #3, 1/9: BPM in the 180s, IT'S HAPPENING!!!

    I think nn only. Only other name besides Cormac and Malcolm I can think of that Mac could work with is Michael. I also know a couple guys named Mackenzie who get called Mac a fair bit.

    I have a friend with a 1 yr old Mack, his is a stand alone name.

    Seeing Mac as a stand alone makes me think of Mac daddy. I don't quite understand why. So I'd say NN only

    I think that Mac looks too incomplete to be a stand alone name, but Mack might be able to do it.

    I love Mack! It's a GP name for me. I think it's fine as a stand alone name as long as it has the k. Mac seems not quite complete but okay for a nn.

    And @violettegreyskies That's a really good suggestion, actually! But I think its a bit biblical for me.

    definitely a nn for me.   And I tend to like traditional nn's for standalones- think Jack, Tess, Alex

    I love Cormac  nn Mac though!
