Sorry not a sex poll.....gifts for siblings from baby and vice-versa?

I can't sleep and was doing all my thinking...and thoroughly enjoying the sex polls.....and was curious if and what you were getting siblings a gift from the baby and vice-versa. We were thinking DS could do a build a bear for baby (team green). Not sure about baby to DS. Any suggestions?

When DS was born, "he" gave her a few busy books (Mickey Mouse clubhouse book with figurines, Sesame Street magnet book, and a potty training book). That way she had something to do while visiting us at the hospital.

In my baby book there's a picture my big brother drew for me when he came to meet me! How cute is that? I'll probably do something simple but I'm not sure what yet!

Our baby got DD an "awesome big sister" shirt for Christmas. She was not impressed. We'll see if I can motivate myself to get both of them anything else.

Baby is going to get DD a baby doll. I'll probably do a boy doll. I am still clueless on what DD can get the baby but I'm sure I'll figure something out.

knowing my kiddo, he will appreciate having a mini birthday party (read: cake) at the hospital to celebrate the baby. he's 3, and hedonistic like that

someone on here gave me that idea awhile ago, and i think that's what we'll do. there's a great local bakery that makes mini cakes, so i'll ask my parents to pick one up before they bring him to the hospital. it will make a far bigger impression than any toy would.

i don't think we'll do a present from him to the baby, but i can imagine my parents might help him make a special card or art project to present to the baby when they visit. again - he wouldn't care about an actual gift, but i think he'd LOVE making a special project for the baby. we'd make sure to tape it up to the wall (maybe near her crib??) when we got home so he could be reminded of it.

My DS is a little older (8) and he loves art so he bought a canvas and it going to paint something for the baby's room. The baby will give him something when she arrives, not sure what yet though.

DD actually already bought something for baby. One night she asked me o take her to BRU so that she could pick out an outfit for "her new baby brother", how could I say no to that?!

We will let DS pick out something small for his new baby sister, and he will probably make a card/picture for her while waiting with my parents. I also love PP's idea of a birthday cake. We will get him a big brother gift with some things to keep him busy while he's visiting at the hospital/during feedings, but we won't say it's from DD.

DD has been asking for a specific movie, so we are going to have that be from the baby. She picked out a sleeper for baby already, that I hope we get to use.

I've been thinking a lot about this, and I don't think we're going to do a gift to DS from his new sister. What I think we WILL do however, is do a little birthday party when he comes to visit. I'll get my mom to make cupcakes with DS while I'm in the hospital and he can bring them when he visits for the first time.

We are getting DS a Corolle doll to bring home from the hospital when he comes to visit me, I'll pack it in my hospital bag. We'll also get him a gift from the baby, probably a truck or new Duplo set (he's two).

I'll also have DH help DS pick out a baby toy from our stash of rattles etc. to bring with him and give the baby at the hospital.

Our oldest still tells the story of the magnetic doll set her baby sis gave her. I'll give the older girls something fun like that (activity oriented and beautifully wrapped as baby will get so many gifts) but I'm also buying all three girls "sister" necklaces. There are some great options through Etsy - just have to make a decision. I think they'll appreciate these / wear these more later on in life.
