Is this the flu?

Hi everyone,

I currently have a pounding headache, body aches, body chills, and a pain that comes and goes in my stomach. I don't know if I have a fever because I haven't taken my temperature, but I'd be willing to bet that I do. Nausea comes and goes as well. Does this sound like the flu? The pain in my stomach has me thrown.

I'm already feeling guilty that my husband is taking care of our little girl while I lay in bed for the last two hours. He's a great dad and does a great job with her, but I feel like I'm missing out. I know that I'm lucky to have him right now, but I'm missing my baby.

So much for the flu shot! I hope everyone else's new year is starting better than mine!

Mastitis? My doc says that when you get it you feel like you have the flu.

That sounds like the stomach virus that's making its way around the country. Influenza is upper respiratory, primarily. Hope you're feeling better soon.

The flu shot covers influenza, not stomach bugs like norovirus, which is what this sounds like. Influenza is actually a respiratory virus, not GI. Get plenty of sleep, stay hydrated, and limit contact with LO.

Oh, ok. Thanks for the input. It does seem more like a virus than the flu now that you've explained it. Blah!! I hope no one else gets it!
