I voted SS. E is one of the younger Aug 13' babies, born at the end of the month. He just turned 4 months. He is not ready and showing no signs. I would like to wait until 6 months or as long as possible. However, I think he will be ready sooner based on his weight, size, and the amount of formula he eats during the day. We will probably start with purees. I received a book for Christmas on how to make purees and feed baby. It made me happy..haha!
LO is 4.5 months with severe reflux. Since he's not gaining, rice cereal and beginning veggies were recommended in an effort to control the reflux in addition to upping his meds at his four month appointment. They're hoping some solids will help him get more nutrition from the bm. If this doesn't works, we will be referred to a specialist.
I voted 6 mos+, but we're planning on doing BLW so I've been watching her for interest and other signs of readiness. Last weekend she ripped a piece of toast out of my hand, so I let her have it just to see what she would do with it. Answer: wave it around and throw it on the floor. Never got anywhere near her mouth.
LO was showing signs of being ready so we started last week. He gets some fruit, veggie or oatmeal cereal late afternoon after he nurses. It's usually only 1/4 jar (if that). He has loved everything he has tried so far!
When DD was a baby the recommendation from her Pedi was to start at 4 months. DS' pedi said not to start until 6 months but we could tell he was ready. I try to follow what the Pedi suggests but sometimes Mom and Dad know best.
Re: Who has started solids?
We have our "Irish Twins"
DD born 8/7/2013
DS born 7/28/14
