2 questions. Boiling and etiquette.

When I sterilize my pump parts and bottles they seem to have a white... like dusty film on them afterwards. WTF?

Also I'm newly friends with someone on FB I met at my local LLL meeting.
She has 2 older daughters.
She calls them....wait for it.

Turtle.

and....


Pickle.

I'm super tempted to ask her if they are their given names or just nicknames.
Privately of course.
Rude or justified?

Justfied for sure.

My pump parts do that too- I try to rinse them before I boil them right after using so milk doesn't dry onto them.

Mine did that when they were brand new. I think it might be my water is a little hard.

I do have hard water and I was tthinking it could be that.
Should I use them like that though?

I'm like 99.99999% sure she called her Turtle at the meeting...and so did our LLL leader.
But I'm all..."Noooo. They didn't say that...."
This was the first I heard of Pickle.

Maybe try a microwave sanitizer instead of boiling. They are relatively inexpensive and save a butt-load of time. Its worth a try anyways. Not sure if that would make s difference if not.

Ladies! Add just a touch of vinegar to your pot. It will take care of the white junk that gets on it! They come out looking brand new!

My friend has two daughters and their nicknames are Boo and Pete. She introduced them using their real names though.

@elllaf ooooh, it works!!! Don't put too much in though, or else it will smell like white vinegar! Sometimes I just rinse all the parts/ bottles off if it does smell with hot water.

This could be. I have names for my kids that I use on my blog/FB page. On my personal page I just use their names.

i love white vinegar more than i love coconut oil. so many uses...magical stuff

I can't believe how much you can use vinegar for. Its much cheaper and healthier than store bought cleaners.
