Hi!
I introduced myself last week, but I have a question. I had a chemical preg in July, miscarriage and D and C in Sept and another chemical just last week. When I called my OB Thursday, he sounded very concerned and wanted to see me Monday for an ultrasound. His schedule was booked, but he said he'd work me in. I went in today and had ultrasound which showed empty uterus (of course) and then saw OB. He said early losses are very common and he wants me to keep trying. When I pushed about three in a row, he then offered to do post O bloodwork next cycle. He and the nurses acted a little annoyed that I was there. I had to remind myself that they are the ones that wanted me to come in.
When I questioned him about going back to the RE (he referred me to RE 5 years ago when hypothyroid was discovered and I wasn't ovulating) he said I could make an appt for March, but he thinks we need to just wait.
I understand that early loss is common, but how common is it? Is my situation very common? Should I wait or go ahead to the specialist? (I called last week and made appt for this week thinking my OB would want me to go).
I know that's a lot to read, thanks for any input or insight.
I would go to an RE and get away from that doctor. Yes it could be nothing, but you have the right to answers. I really don't understand why this happens. Don't doctors realize the emotional toll all these losses take on us? Ug!!

I would go to the RE especially since you already have that appointment. I would also look for a new OB. RPL testing is common after a 3rd loss, I'm so very sorry about that btw. For him to be dismissive after what you've experienced is inexcusable, IMO. I'm very sorry he was like that.
Thanks for the feedback! This is making me crazy! I stupidly canceled the appointment after thinking what my OB said and not wanting to go to an unnecessary appt. I made an appointment with a new OB office that came very recommended and got an appointment for Jan 20th. I know it's time for a new OB and I'm excited for the change. For the last 2 hours and after reading your comments, I've been kicking myself for not keeping the appointment with the RE. I just called back to see if it was still available and of course, it's taken. Ugh! I think I need a glass of wine, a hot bath and a good night's rest. My head is killing me! Thanks again for the responses.
