Thermometer covers

Does anyone use them? Especially when temping vaginally? Do they impact the reading at all?

If I was a disgusting human, I would use the covers that came with the thermometer only because I can peel it off and use it without the next night, thereby extending the amount of time in which I do not have to take my thermometer to the bathroom to clean it. In theory.

Maybe I'm the most disgusting human of all then, because mine gets pretty...uh...crusty if I don't wash it. Alcohol wipes are genius.
