Car Seats

Hi ladies.. I am wondering if anyone has used the uppababy Mesa carseat. I am just not sure if it is worth the price! If not, what car seat do you recommend? TIA!

Re: Car Seats

  • They all pass the same guidelines and testing, so generally the more expensive ones have nicer fabrics or easier to use harnesses/buckles or easier to install etc. Sometimes they have added safety features that aren't required or tested - at least that is how I understand it.

My point, if you want that seat and can afford, go for it, but it doesn't mean your child is safer or better off, know what I mean?

We have our second chicco key fit, I really like those.

    Thanks!!

  • We opted for the Graco Snugride 40, because it is one of the few infant-toddler convertible car seats that also works as a click and go with the matching stroller. I did a lot of research and it has many of the same reviews as the Britax BAgile system, for a lot less cost! It's also super cute, and the maneuverability and comfort of the stroller was great!
  • haven't used the seat you specifically mentioned.  we have and love a chicco keyfit30 seat.  @lalamama81 gave great advice up at the top too.
  • We Have The Graco travel system, and a Britax Pavillion 70 convertible car seat. I did a to. Of research, and found that it is the most highly rated by Moms on Amazon for car seats. It also has an integrated steel frame, tether webbing to help reduce forward movement in a crash and true side impact protection to keep the head, neck and body aligned correctly. We have both because they were both purchased for us. We plan to use pumpkin seat until baby is a bit bigger, 6 moths ish, then she'll move to the Brtiax.
  • I looked at the Mesa because I have the Uppababy Vista Stroller. I decided against it because there weren't many reviews since it was so new. I am sure it passed all tests, etc. But, I opted for the Graco Snugride since it received 10/10 in safety ratings. I will get the adapter piece so it fits onto my Vista though.

  • We gots Chicco KeyFit because it was one of our top contenders and we saw it in the store for 50% off. Can't beat a $199 car seat for $95. We also like Chicco's KeyFit Caddy (equivalent to snap n go) because the seat actually snaps in with an audible "click" and is easy to collapse. We'll get another stroller too at some point, but not until we move back to the US this summer (baby will be about 3-4 months at that point).
