Fit Moms Friday

Did I miss this today? I can't remember who started this thread, but I really like it and don't want it to die! I have nothing to report this week, as I've eaten way too much for the holidays. But I need the encouragement, so can we please keep this one going?

Re: Fit Moms Friday

  • Just keep going! I've been working out two-three times a week and finally moving away from food aversions. I think I'm ready to put a ban on refined sugar and simple carbs again. Up until week 20 plain white pasta and toast were my staples. This of course packed on the lbs. I'm finally feeling great at week 26 and want to really focus on nutrition. I've always eaten paleo...or pretty close and can feel my body needing to detox the gluten. I'm also super excited to start juicing. I got a juicer for Christmas. Bring on some natural vitamins/minerals!
When I eat better, I feel better about myself.

  • I've been to the gym twice, just walking jogging on the elliptical. I can't run anymore, my RLP is so painful i end up in tears. I'm also walking 2-2.5 miles a day, very slowly. Christmas wasn't bad, I definitely indulged but my GT came back excellent and my weight gain is right on track so overall I'm happy

  • Got back on track with my prenatal yoga today - it makes me feel so much better. I have been exercising pretty regularly - about 5 times a week - thanks to our equipment in the basement. It is too cold here for me to do much outside. Did not do too badly with eating this week, mostly thanks to DS's stomach bug which pretty much turned me off of food for about two days.

I have already gained more this

  • This week has been ok. I have done my prenatal workout video twice and I have been trying to load up on veggies :) Santa brought me a new workout video and I'm excited to try it out tomorrow!
  • Yay! I'm so happy there is a thread for fit mamas! I have some lifting restrictions, as I have placenta previa. I'm currently 23 weeks pregnant (2nd pregnancy). I've kept up lifting about 3-5 times a week. My diet has not been good, though. I am having a hard time (mentally) with the weight gain. I really need to get my nutrition back on track. Very depressing with the body changes :(
  • I wish I could say I was working out everyday, but I can't. We did a lot of driving going to from one place to the next (like for days worth). I did try not to over eat.  My doctor did tell me I need to keep my weight gain at 1/2 lbs. a week because it has been closer to 1 1/2 lbs to 2 lbs. a week right now.  Hopefully that will slow down as I get bigger (wont have room).   My goal this week is to work out at least 5 times.  The only good thing is I don't feel like I have gained to much.  I am really liking my pregnant shape.

  • I'm on vacation in Florida, but managed to play tennis, go for a few walks, do a bodyweight and kettlebell circuit, and tried out Pure Barre (loved it). My eating hasn't been too bad either, with the exception of some cookies and pie, so I am happy with that. I'm even more happy that I haven't had access to a scale.

I can't wait to get back to my regular routine though.
  • @cecilbear I originally started this thread, but anyone can definitely start this on Fridays if it isn't up! I've been super busy with the holidays and not having computer access the last few weeks :)

I'm doing a pretty well with being active - went on a 3 mile walk today and a run/walk a few days ago, but have been eating way too many cookies. After we get back to real life on Monday and finish all the celebrating, I'm going to try hard to focus on eating much better.

Hope you ladies had a nice holiday!
