Do you need to be using diaper cream at this point? Is there a diaper rash going on? I've every only used a cream when there was an active rash. Au natural works really great.
I wouldn't go all crazy with the baby powder, but my doctor has even recommended it once for a moist rash my son had, and it helped. I bet corn starch really would technically be best, but baby powder won't hurt in the short-term.
I don't like to use it and our pedi says no no no .... Except on occasion my kids get bad bad diaper rash. In that case I mix in a bowl the destin in the purple tube and a&d first aid ointment, slather it on, sprinkle a little Argos corn starch on. The very bad rash is usually gone after a couple diaper changes.
I read once that baby powder breads yeast, which for little girls is a bad idea. I stopped using baby powder then because my DD #1 was very susceptible to yeast rashes. DD #2 has a little yeast rash now (looks like little read dots vs. regular diaper rash) so I've had to use lotrimin.
