A huge thank you to all you ladies for your support and advice! It made me think about things that I hadn't thought about as well as made me feel like I'm not BSC for wanting time with our LO. This board has definitely saved my sanity a few times!

We don't have rules. My parents are the only ones in the family going to know when I go into labor since they will be watching my other 3. We'll only tell people after the baby is born.
I guess I haven't thought of how things are going to go if I have a c/s. Again, my parents will know. But if the c/s is scheduled, I don't know if I'll tell everyone when it's scheduled for or not.
I do expect to have certain visitors on certain days, mostly ladies from my water class.
You already probably realize by now how unreasonable, selfish, and immature your SIL is acting so I will leave it at that...
In regards to rules, since we live so far away from family we really do not have to worry about family barging in. Our only rule (which is mainly for my MIL) is no one posts anything or any pictures on facebook until DH and I have.
For the few people that will probably show up at the hospital to visit, my only rule is they bring a large bottle of wine and an opener...Once I see this in hand, then they will be allowed entrance into my room...
Clearly no other comments need to be made re: your SIL. This is YOUR time with your little family so she can suck it. Agree with PP to just tell her the c/s was postponed and someone will tell her when it is APPROPRIATE for her to visit. As far as rules, I have a scheduled C on 1/10 @ 245P and my parents are flying in the day before. They insist on waiting in the hospital til given the green light. I warned them there was a good chance that they would be waiting until AT LEAST 6P if not later. They were fine with that. Hubs and I agreed that we would allow family only Fri night/Sat AM and no more than 2-3 people at a time. We're also going to bribe the nurses with food to keep us top of mind and enlist their help. I have no idea how I'm going to feel so the Hubs and I have come up with a code phrase that means everyone-get-the-eff-out. Good luck to you!!!
My rule is bring me a milk shake. But I don't have crazies thankfully. With first born though my brother had pneumonia and his wife came with all her kids and I was like no way Jose. Stay away from my baby with your sick germs.
Re: Visitors - Have you set any rules, etc for delivery day?
