I've just been thinking about this - for twins, do you choose one set of God parents for both children or choose two sets of God parents? My cousin has twin girls & she has two sets of God parents and a friend of mine did the same for her twin boys. Maybe it's personal preference? Just looking for some opinions. Thanks
I think its a personal choice and depends what you believe. 1) god parents are responsible for your childs faith, and helping them along. 2) your god parents will be caregivers of your children if yhe worst should happen to you.
We believe option 1, so all our children will have their own special god parents... Good luck!
Started TTC in 2006, LOTS of trying, and trying, and 7 rounds of IVF with 13 embryos, 2 perfect little boys and 5 loses.... All finished with babies, started to make diet changes, Keto, to be MORE for my kids, lost 30 pounds, still going, and 3 months in, I had a natural cycle, and then ovulated... Hubs and I are going to see what happens now... Maybe a natural pregnancy? After everything we have been through? Or just a return to normal hormones? We shall see what the future holds!
We have one set for both. For our children, we want godparents who will play an active role in their faith formation, and who we're confident will be a part of our lives long term. That narrows down the number of couples quite a bit, for us at least! Since we hope to have a larger family we will probably end up "recycling" godparents at some point anyway. Still, I did go back and forth on it a bit. In the end it really is just a personal choice.
We've decided on one set of God parents for both. Our choices are slim so that is why. My sister and BIL are DD1s and they are God parents to two other family members. I talked it over with my sister first to make sure she wouldn't be upset if we asked my best friend (since 1st grade) and her husband.
