Can't sleep On left Side

I absolutely can't sleep on my left side. Every time I even try , my heart starts pounding and it feels like my heart is being crushed
In its place. I mentioned this at my appointment a month ago and the OB didn't really take it seriously. I'm starting to worry. Today I even felt that way sitting up. Anyone have a similar experience?

  • I haven't had a similar experience bu you don't have to sleep on your left side. Personally i am all over the place tossing and turning, but most often on right side.

  • Some shortness of breath, pounding heart and even lightheadedness is common in pg. Your blood volume increases dramatically and the heart has to work harder.

If it is still bothering you, ask your doc again. If they again say NBD, ask them why so your mind will be put at ease.

  • I can only sleep on my left side when I am super super tired. Otherwise I can just feel the pounding too easily. It happens to people who are more sensitive to whats going on in their body. I can't wear ear plugs because my heart beat gets too loud in my ears. And now that the volume of your blood is so much higher it's even more noticeable. It sucks but try going to sleep on your right side and only sleep on your left in the middle of the night when you are more tired and hopefully won't notice it as much.
But for sure don't worry about it unless you are feeling multiple irregular heart beats in a row. If that's the case then call a cardiologist. I have a very irregular heart beat but since they aren't in a row they are super worried about it.
Hope some of my rambling helped!
