No power since 7 am on the 22nd and none due back till the 28th. I always wanted a pioneer Christmas. I feel just like Laura Ingalls... Anyway. Just complaining sorry!

Complain all you want...it totally sucks not having power! During Hurricane Sandy, we were out for almost a week, and it was unseasonably cold for October, as well, so no amount of clothes felt like enough. I'm so sorry you have to spend the holiday like this...I hope they surprise you with early power! I think they tend to tell you the latest time in the window that they're shooting for, so that people don't complain if they don't hit the mark.

I heard on the news that the ice storm has really messed things up! We had one in mass I think maybe back in 2010, we didn't have power for almost a week. No fun! It was right around Christmas I think... I hope your holiday gets better!

My sister, BIL, and nephew are in the same Michigan area hit and have no power. They're fortunate thought that they have to fireplaces in the house to keep them warm-ish. We're lucky here on the Lake Michigan side that we didn't get much by way of ice, but plenty of snow. FX for you that something gets worked out for you to be warm and happy through this nasty cold spell!

My parents and sister are still w/o power too!  Hope you have a generator or fireplace to keep warm!

I'm in Michigan too. Luckily we kept our power, but some of our family is still out and had to cancel our Christmas together. It's been a real bummer. Hope it all goes back on soon!

As a fellow power-free-mama-to-be, you have my sympathy! Obv im nowhere near michigan as i live near London, UK, but the story is the same. It makes you realise how much we rely on it. We've been dealing with floods too. Hang in there! I hope you can stay with family or friends.

Nope day 4 for us and it seems like everyone around us has gotten it back. It's been a rough Christmas overall. My grandpa also passed away this morning. When it rains it pours

So sorry about your grandfather!  That's so difficult whenever it happens, but this timing seems especially bad.  Here's hoping that with your bad events being clustered like that you'll have smooth sailing for at least many months now!  Also hoping you get power back soon!  We've been fortunate to have just had several short outages with this storm but many around us (in Maine) are also out for days.  Ice storms suck.  Even though they make the trees pretty.

Thank you all. I am definitely ready to start a new year. My grandma (same side) passed away less than two months ago, so it's been a lot at once. Still no power, and we are going to try to go out of town to stay at my in-laws for a few days.
