April 2014 Moms

Lets talk about hair.. Down there.

Sooo I'm a TTM, you'd think id have a system down when it comes to grooming my lady parts when the bump grows. But I don't.
Basically with my other pregnancies I maintained until I couldn't see anything anymore and then just give up until post-baby.
Well.. I found that I can't see anything anymore down there much sooner than before. And oh my lord it's gotten quite amazon-like down there. I feel like DH has to part the ways in order to find my vagina so we can be intimate. Sort of like Moses parting the Red Sea...
Anyway, how can I tame the wild beast without blindly taking a razor to myself and risk a very painful outcome?

  • I had to start like sitting and laying back a little bit to do it. I used to just stay standing up but bending over like that doesn't happen comfortably anymore lol

  • I shave blind regularly because i am blind without my glases on and i love to shave in the shower. I've Never hurt myself. I think you might surprise yourself if you gave it a try.

    This.
  • Buy a trimmer. Target has a few options that are around $20-30.
  • Mirror, Trimmer (my hubby's has one on the back of his razor, shhh don't tell him), blindly whack at it or what I did at the end: beg for help from the hubs. ;-)

  • Yeah, a trimmer is a great Idea.

Waxing is too painful for me .. So I shave myself with a razor every 2 weeks ( I have u/s every 2 weeks). Actually, in our hospital, when you go to give birth, you have to be hairless down there. If you`re not, they give you a razor and make you shave. :/

What?? For real???? I can't see how that is necessary for anything. It's freaking hair, not a medical emergency!
Weird...they say it`s for hygene... Like that hair is full of infection or something.

I think your entire hospital staff is on crack.

    ;)
Indeed, some of our doctors are really shitty..and insensitive. The father of the child isn`t allowed to stay there during labor and they feed the babies with formula without askink the mother.... And almost all the doctors demand you to pay for giving birth..and that pay, you know, is unofficial and illegal, a 500$ tip. Even the cleaning lady waits for tips to change the sheets. And we have MORE, I could write a novel about that :))

Uhhhhh midwife/home birth an option? That's crazy!
  • Last time DH said that when I went into labour he'd shave me. Then while in labour he refused!!! So home birth midwife didn't care, I didn't care.... I didn't care until we had to take the ambulance to the hospital . As an ER nurse I know all the local medics. He saw my giant swollen hairy beaver, as did all NICU and OB staff at the hospital that I worked at! Now everytime I see this medic it's all I can think of.
  • I wax I know it's painfull but it's so worth not having hair for a month and I don't have to worry about cutting anything because somebody does it it feels like a baby's when she is finished with me so that is my go to once you get it once you are addicted and the also have numbing creams you can put down there before waxing so it doesn't hurt I don't use then because it's like 15 of pain for a whole month of beautifulness

  • @Serenla nope, it`s just Romania. The technology is ok, in our NICU they save 1 pound babies but the stupid rools have no sense to me. The comunism ended 14 years ago buy you still can feel it everywhere.

Ha! Yep I just did a snort laugh.
  • I havent shaved in about a month.... I was thinking the other day I need to get my DH's trimmer and trim before I try to hack at it in the shower. LOL!

    Yep.

  • I know this sounds crazy but I use Nair. They have a bikini line, you just smear it on and wait a few minutes then rinse it off. It doesn't burn or irritate and I have super sensitive skin. And you really don't need to see anything just stand in the mirror if you want while you apply it. Works great!!
  • Doing it half blind now, but I'll soon be over the toilet (lid down) with a mirror. I don't do it as often as i used to, but once a week at least.
