Has anyone tried Honest Company Belly Balm?

I purchased bio-oil from Costco, but after reading some scary stories about all the hidden chemicals in there, I'm thinking about returning it to the store and trying something else. I'd like to go as all-natural and organic as possible with beauty products while pregnant and I noticed that the Honest Company has an organic belly balm: https://www.honest.com/bath-and-body/belly-balm

Has anyone tried it? Good? Bad? I know nothing will completely stop stretch marks from happening, but I'd love to find something to moisturize and stop the itchy skin without a lot of chemicals.

Thanks!

  • How about organic Virgin coconut oil

Smells incredible. Pretty cheap (I got awesome one from Costco)

    Great for skin.

No stinky chemicals or paying for someone's "brand" and witch craft of ingredients that make false promises

  • I just got it. It's ok so far. It smells good to me but is the consistency of Vaseline which I don't love. In my last pg and this too I also like the Bella B lotion and mix it with the L'occitane body oil which smells amazing but costs an arm and a leg ;)

  • I've never tried it but have a friend who swears by all of Honest company's products.
  • I have tried it and I LOVE it. One morning I woke up with a few marks on my breast (sorry, tmi) that I thought looked like bug bites or cuts in a grouping and my husband was like "uh no, that's a stretch mark." I FREAKED out, put some of the honest balm on it, and literally when I got up the next day, they were completely gone. Now it's all ill use.
  • I JUST got my Honest belly balm in the mail on Saturday (they mailed a red cedar TREE along with it as a free gift LoL Merry Christmas). I've tried it once since receiving it as I've got my burt's bee's mama bee belly butter & oil that I'm using first. Hold on, I'll pull the honest balm out of the drawer right now…

I like the smell of Burt's Bee's better--Burt's smells like lemon & honey. Honest balm has a very… natural, organic aroma. I don't really know how to describe the scent. It has an oily sheen when you apply it, but doesn't feel greasy. That said, I don't know how it will work yet as I don't have new stretch marks, I have a lot of very old, deep, mean, stretch marks. I'm hoping to avoid any more (although I don't think theres anyplace else I COULD stretch), or avoid the darkening of the existing ones during this pregnancy. We will see what happens!!
I'm happy to read @mschaub2 's comments about how it worked for her!

  • Thanks for all your input. I just ordered it from the website and will try it when it gets here!
  • I use it everyday on my hips, belly and boobs. The smell is neutral and it's not oily that makes you feel icky having clothes over it. I've also used Palmer's cocoa butter, which is thicker but also works great!
  • I used Palmer's with my first… Didn't work for me  :/
