Pregnancy belt

I'm noticing that if I'm out for extended periods of time walking around (shopping for a couple hours etc), my lower back ends up killing me. Usually if I know I'm going to be out for more than just a quick grocery trip or something, I wear supportive sneakers and try to take lots of sitting breaks, but even then, my back may start hurting after not very long at all. I'm wondering if it's worth it to get a pregnancy belt of some sort. Has anyone used one? Is it something I should talk to my doctor about first? Alternatively, is there something else I could be doing to try and limit my back strain? I feel like if I don't change something, I will really be hurting by spring since I still have half my pregnancy to go.

Re: Pregnancy belt

  • Get one. I had one last time and later in the pregnancy if I didn't wear it, my stomach just felt like it was going to tear off the front of me. Between a few years time, and moving, mine got packed away and we had to buy a new one this time around. It's a back saver.

  • @Boostie327, I've been feeling the exact same way and just started seeing a Chiropractor that specializes in prenatal adjustments. So far the relief is only short term. Any of you ladies that had a pregnancy belt, what kind do you recommend? I definitely want something supportive but not too bulky.
  • The one we got this time around is a loving comfort support belt. Pretty sure the other one we have somewhere is the same thing. I got both at Motherhood. They should let you take then out and try them on, they always let me.

  • Thanks guys. It sounds like a purchase that may be worth it for me. I will check out loving comfort one next time I'm in Motherhood!
