xp: sventurarn update

What a week it has been! I cannot believe our sweet little girl is 5 days old already!
She graduated from the NICU on Thursday afternoon, and we were both discharged together on Friday afternoon. Michelle is so strong and thriving, although she sleeps a lot. I am recovering well from my C section. Dealing with a lot of emotions between hormones, and an unexpected birth that did not go at all the way we had planned.

Due to many reasons, we were not prepared to be holding her in our arms this early. We have been struggling to catch up with chores that needed to be done before my water broke as well as last-minute preparations for baby. Luckily we have some family help but it is still a lot. I want to get a Christmas tree and decorate that at least for Michelle's first Christmas, but it may be too much at the last minute. DH is struggling with trying to be a doting husband and dad while getting his overload of work done in the busiest week of the year. He is doing an amazing job.

I miss bumping with all of you awesome crazies as much as I have been previously. I am hoping things will die down after Christmas, or at least after New Years, and I can come back. For now I have been barely able to lurk. Congratulations to every one who has given birth this past week, I am so sorry I have not congratulated you all personally. I have been thinking of you and I miss you all!

Michelle is adorable! Don't take on too much right now. You can have a gorgeous tree next year and do the holiday right with a one year old. Try to relax and enjoy her.

Congrats and as other posters said just focus on time with your sweet baby and healing. The laundry, cleaning and chores will always need to be done; just do what you can and eventually you'll get caught up.  Have fun with your new family this Christmas!

Great to hear she got to come home with her family before Christmas. Home may not have been ready for her , but it's way better than the hospital. Enjoy your time with baby and take care of yourself, your doing great!!
