umm...dh just told me I smell

Just got up to pee & jumped back into bed. DH said "baby, your BO stinks... I think its the pregnancy"

Um, totally self conscious but can't say I haven't noticed it myself . I just thought it was my heightened sense of smell or in my head. I shower every day & use nice smelling products. It only helps for a few hours.... :-(

Re: umm...dh just told me I smell

  • I went to a dermatologist a while ago and one tip they gave me was to make sure that my armpits are completely dry before putting deodorant on. It fixed my problem!

  • Sorry girl, I hate when DH points out embarrassing while at the same time I'm glad it was him and not someone else. I've notice that the only time I ever have BO is when I'm pregnant, otherwise I could never wear deodorant and be perfectly fine....its all the freaking hormones.

  • I have to use deodorant twice a day with this pregnancy. Damn hormones!
  • You know what you might find helpful are using baby wipe towelettes to wipe down your underarms and then reapplying deodorant as you need to throughout the day. You don't want to just keep applying deodorant to a stinky underarm because the bacteria gets on the deodorant stick.
I used to buy the little travel packs of towelettes and deodorant and keep it in my bag so I could freshen up whenever need be.
I know it sounds annoying but it's so much better than worrying you might stink and not being able to do anything about it.
  • I'm a smelly person in general, but pregnancy has indeed made it worse.  DH has said the same thing to me recently.  So I wash the bed sheets even more frequently and just tell him to deal :)
  • DH and I joke about how I'm big and smelly all the time. It is what it is. You're not alone.

  • I smell myself all the time. My skin just smells different! DH is smart enough to deny deny deny in our case. He knows how sensitive I am. Happy wife happy life!
