Miscarriage/Pregnancy Loss

Remembering?

I know many of you are still in the first days or weeks of pregnancy loss (all my heart is going out to you right now), but any of you who have been through this before or are healing now have any ideas or plans for commemorating? Since we lost ours right at the end of the first trimester, we didn't know the baby's gender, so we decided against naming, but we talked about planting a tree and I've thought about doing something with the ultrasound pictures when I'm ready to look at them. Has anyone found certain ways of commemoration after miscarriage especially healing?

Re: Remembering?

  • We didn't know the sex of our baby so we came up with a unisex name and got an angel Christmas ornament wit the name engraved on it. Every Christmas we will hang it on our tree together and remember our little holiday angel

  • We did a chinese lantern tonight to commemorate the loss of our baby. I lost our baby on November 13th and had a D&C on November 20th. Its been very difficult because we'd been trying for a year and a half, but tonight I wanted to do something to symbolize letting grief go and moving on. I bought lanterns on line and we went outside and while we waited for it to fly away, I just prayed that a baby will come into our lives very soon. It was actually very therapeutic and beautiful to see it fly away. This baby we lost will always be a part of our lives but I believe that moving on is the only way we can have our rainbow baby in 2014..
  • i experienced my loss in nov. and my gram had given me a christmas ornament (just before our loss) but when it came to decorating the tree, i found it to be the perfect ornament to dedicate it to our ''LO'' i also had just ordered a ring that just so happens to symbolize, me,  Dh and our LO. once i receive it, it will not leave my finger just like my engagement/wedding ring.

wishing you the best and hoping you find peace and happiness soon. hugs

  • I ordered a Necklace with a charm that says "Remember" on one side, and on the other side is a birthstone of what would have been the baby's birth month. I wear it everyday.
