Kohl's Vent / PSA

I normally do not post things like this, but I am so disappointed in Kohl's right now.

We placed an order on 11/27 for some Christmas gifts for my son.  We received a confirmation and the Kohls website said it shipped with an anticipated delivery date of 12/4 - 12/11.  On 12/8, I received an e-mail from Kohl's saying that there had been some updates to my order and due to bad weather, delivery times were taking a few days longer.  They cancelled one piece (which was the main reason for the order in the first place), still no big deal really, except they had already confirmed the order and told me it had shipped?  Then they broke the order up (after it was already shipped).  We received one piece on 12/17.  The other pieces were showing an anticipated ship date of 12/8, with no new information updated.

When you call the Kohl's number it tells you in an automated message that there has been issues with the systems and the tracking information is not updating, but the orders are coming.  I spent two nights on hold for over 40 minutes, finally got through last night and was assured my order was coming and it would be here by 12/24.  I was told not to worry.  I told DH, I had seen a lot of negative feedback on line and people's orders were getting cancelled.  So, I went ahead and ordered some of the same stuff through another website and it has already shipped and will be here 12/21. 

Tonight (approximately 1 hour ago), I get an email from Kohl's telling me that my entire order (with the exception of the one piece that was already cancelled and the item we received 12/17) was now out of stock and I would not be receiving any of it.  How is this possible, when it was shipped already?  I just feel like they have lied to me the entire time.  They should have just told me from the beginning "Look, we don't have your crap.  Buy something else."  Instead this has been drug out 22 days and I have 6 days before Christmas.

The kicker is Kohl's is still advertising delivery by Christmas if you order by 12/19.  Seriously?  You can get people their stuff in 5 days, but not mine in 22 days?  When you go to the Kohl's Facebook page, there are comments after comments about similar things happening. 

I know some of you are going to say "Gifts are not what Christmas is all about."  I get that, I do.  This is the first Christmas DS is excited about and he's three, he asked for two things - a Mickey Mouse sleeping bag and a chair (both we ordered from Kohl's).  I have been polite every time I have talked to anyone at Kohl's or e-mailed them.  I know yelling and cursing wouldn't get me anything.  I am just really aggravated with the whole thing.  People are being double charged for things and not getting refunds.  Hopefully, we won't have to deal with that.  I just wanted to kind of do a PSA for anyone thinking of placing a last minute order with Kohls.com.  Ok, vent over!

  • That really sucks! I don't think you're being unreasonable for expecting your packages on time for your son. I'm glad you got it through another site though.

  • How frustrating! I am not a fan of Kohl's in general. I just don't get the hype. This just seals the deal for me.

  • That is so frustrating! I also am not a fan of Kohl's already, so I refuse to shop there. I'm glad you found your DS the stuff he wanted somewhere else!

  • Aww man, that really stinks. I'm sorry! I didn't have any problems with them in the fall when I ordered maternity clothes. 22 days is crazy, and they claim they don't charge you until they ship it, which they apparently did not.. So frustrating!
  • I genuinely hate Kohls, and refuse to shop there.
  • Thank goodness you ordered elsewhere or you would be in a pickle.  I would definitely follow up with them that is terrible customer service.  
  • I just yesterday received an order I placed with them at the end of November! So frustrating! And I was waiting to use the kohls cash to make sure I was keeping everything so they wouldn't short me if I had to return something. ... and now I just realized it already expired! Ugh! So annoying. Everything else I've ordered from other sites arrived in a timely manner despite "bad weather". Definitely slipping in their customer service dept. They used to be great :(
  • That sucks! Personally love kohls.... but I don't do a lot of online shopping with them. I get there is bad weather blah blah and my recent purchase from target was broken up too, but to place an order in November and still not receive it? That's just nuts!
  • I also had the same order problems for some play food I ordered on Black Friday for my daughter's Christmas gift (kitchen). Same events and same automated message. I love kohks do much (and maternity clothes are half off right now, plus a coupon you might have for 30% off), but I was ticked when I saw that bc I could've bought the same thing in store on Black Friday, but bc my husband didn't have a job, I didn't chance it and bought it online with my card in case the store was out. I was extremely frustrated too bc it took so long. I think it had to do with them offering Black Friday prices online.
  • yikes I just placed an online order a few days ago with khols, looks like its on its was to me (already made it through 2 scans in ups) so seems like i lucked out (at least for now)

  • That sucks, I"m so sorry!!! 
    This happened to me with Walmart last year, the one thing my oldest wanted and they waited until Dec. 23rd to tell me it was on back order and wouldn't be arriving.

    I also got an email with a $25 gift card due to my order being shipped late - I almost didn't see it because it was in my junk email folder.  Luckily, my order arrived today - a couple weeks later than anticipated, but before Christmas.  @Luckie519 , you should check your junk folder and see if you got one too - it doesn't sound like it would make up for the trouble you've gone through, but maybe you can get a little something for yourself or the baby for free.  
  • @Krispix78 I was told Kohl's cash doesn't expire, at least not in NJ. Ours come with expiration dates but you can use them whenever.

    In addition to the complaints about Kohl's online ordering, I ordered things the first week of December and I received my last item today. They sent out 4 different shipments for my order. I thought it was rather confusing that I only received one e-mail saying my items were shipped and that was after I already received two of the items.
    I, personally, love Kohl's. I feel like you can find such great deals and the discounts that you can use on top of sale prices are awesome. However, I spent a lot of money there this Christmas and my last trip to the store had me pissed. The woman that rung me up was miserable and overwhelmed. I give people the benefit of the doubt that they are stressed due to the holidays, but don't be nasty with me. I am still debating whether or not to call the store manager regarding the way she treated me.
