Is this real?

I mean, I'll be the first to admit I know nothing about potty training a child. But this has to be a joke, right? Anyway, the reviews are fantastic.

Enjoy

  • No, it's a thing. There was a big deal recently about Fisher Price making something like this. This was in a Canadian news magazine last week:

  • The reviews are a joke... I think.

  • Ugh my niece is 3 and mom hands her the iPad during a trip to the potty. I'm being totally judgy and it may be me in 3 years but I still roll my eyes.
  • My mom has pictures of me on the toilet at like 18 months with national geographic, LOL

That thing is seriously sick. If anyone I knew ever had that, I'm not sure I'd ever talk to them again

  • My favorite:

"I really thought it worked great until I handed little Pavlov the iPad to keep him quiet in church. Yikes!"

Out of 103 reviews, I doubt a single one is for real. But this is an actual product??? I'm floored.

  • The reviews are hysterical. I love the one about being said it doesn't have a sippy cup holder or wheels so her son can just ride it around the house.

  • Between this and the baby bouncing seat with an iPad 2 inches from the babies face, you wont even have to talk to your kid!  Just sit them on the toilet for the day, put some snacks next to them, and your set.  You could probably even run errands and leave them home! Maybe even happy hour! Win win!

  • Aren't there tons of studies out about how much shit can be detected on people's cell phones and stuff?  I'd like to think most of us would touch our phone/tablets, then put it down when it's time to wipe and not pick it up again until after we wash our hands.  I'm pretty sure a baby isn't quite as concerned about hygiene.  Not to even mention the whole concept of freakin babies needing to be occupied with tablets while they're pottying.

  • Okay, full disclosure here, I totally gave my DS the iPad as a "bribe" to get him to even sit on the potty. It was a week before preschool was starting, and it seemed like at 3.5 years old he was the only kid his age to still be in diapers. And he REFUSED to use the potty, he just knew that diapers are so much easier. haha. So yah, I used the iPad. It didn't work quite the way I had hoped. Sure he sat on the potty, but he never did anything. So,we started using stickers, and that seemed to do the trick.

Also, my cousin taught all of her boys to sit backwards on the potty, which is the way this potty looks. Said that worked really well for her, but I never did go that route.

  • Well that's interesting. We just used regular books and DS potty trained just fine. But hey, whatever works I guess?

  • DH would be so jealous if he saw this- he'd want one for himself. Awkward.

  • This is ridiculous! I understand using the iPad as a reward for going to the potty, if that's the only time s/he gets to play with it but not while they are going.
