Rough A/S tonight *Updated

18w with di/di twins and thrilled to find out that we are adding 2 more boys to our crew. I'm going to be sooo out numbered (DS is 2yo)
The doctor met with us afterwards to let us know there was an absence of a nasal bone in one of the boys on the 12w scan, which is a soft maker for downs. They are sending me for the materni21 test so I will have to wait a week to find out more.
I know there were threads earlier on this board of people experiencing soft markers a few weeks back, but cant seem to find in a search on my mobile. Just nervous and scared. I'm 100% sure we will be thrilled to have these little boys no matter what...but first the shock of twins, then to deal with this would be really difficult. Any words of hope would be wonderful.

After a week of making myself sick, no sleep and googling like crazy, my doctor just called (on Christmas Eve) to let me know my Mat21 came back negative and everything looks normal. so glad she called so we didn't have to be in limbo all thru the holiday.
Like I said, I would love this little munchkin no matter what, but surprise twins was already pretty daunting.

Just a question - did they not tell you about it at your 12 week scan and wait until this one? That gives me a whole new world of things to possible be anxious about.

I would also be asking my dr. why they didn't mention it earlier if they saw it at the 12 week scan.
The maternit21 test can take up to 2 weeks to come back so do not get worried if it seems like it is taking a long time! Thinking of you !
