Ok, so I just got the report of my MRI results but I'm not seeing the RE until Tuesday. I'm kind of freaking out a bit because it's not what I expected and I have no clue what it means. I wanted to see if any of you have any insight.
"Findings are compatible with arcuate configuration of uterus." So not bicornuate or septum?
Also, "left ovarian cyst, at least 2.7 cm in maximal dimension."
I had to look this up so don't take what I'm saying as gospel. According to Wikipedia an arcuate uterus dips in ( is concave) and may form a small septation. Interestingly it also said that the distinction between an arcuate uterus and septate uterus is not standardized.
Weird girl. I have NO clue. ((hugs)) I'm sure your RE will have some answers for you. Can't cysts form from ovulation and then they go away? I thought I saw that somewhere.

Acruate is a good thing! Better than bicornuate! It's a small dip at the top of the uterus so not a complete heart shape love. this is a good good thing. My doctor told me that my ute is acruate and that I also had a septum. If there is a septum in there it can be surgically removed because the structure of the uterus is not completely heart shaped!
ETA: My official diagnosis was acruate uterus (shape) with internal sub septum.
(((hugs))) I know how confusing all of this is - if you have any questions feel free to PM me okay?
Also, I think it's time to make a nice write up about these mullerian anatomy issues on the blog. Far too many of us are walking down this road.
I would interpret that to mean just arcuate and not bicornuate. I'm mobile and not sure what point you are in your cycle, but a luteal cyst can form after ovulation and go away on it's own. My doctors have pointed them out to me and said NBD as long as it's not huge or causing a lot of pain.
I'm sure your RE will have better guidance, I know it's hard to wait though.
TTC #1 since March 2011
BFP #1: EDD 4/16/13~~blighted ovum w/ 2 gestational sacs~~Loss on 9/18/12 BFP #2: EDD 9/3/13~~Slow HB at 1st U/S~~MMC -Loss on 2/13/13

Thanks everyone! I guess I can focus in the good news that it's not bicornuate! The report they gave me said nothing about a septum. I'm just worried because a quick google search says an arcuate uterus on its own doesn't normally cause miscarriage, and I'm going to punch something if I end up back at having no answers. I just have to try to stay calm until Tuesday and see what the RE says.
Don't freak out just yet.
I'm going to page @kmw08 but from what I remember KMW's MRI did not show anything. So the MRI came out clean while her SIS showed something. In my case, the SIS showed a normal uterus while the MRI picked up on the septum.
If I were in your position, I would push for a hysteroscopy. Both KMW and I got conflicting reports from the u/s and MRIs and both indeed had a small septums in there.
I don't have much to add except when I was having ultrasounds for a few weeks before the doctor decided that my pregnancy was in fact not a viable one, the nurse said that she saw evidence of a cyst that was shrinking in size. I'm pretty sure she said that sometimes cysts will form on your ovaries and then will shrink during your cycle. Sending you positive vibes and thoughts!!!
I've been a little bored at work today, and have been chart stalking a bit, and I think that you and I would be good friends based on the olive green markings on your chart

I have no advice/guidance or anything to offer other than ((Hugs)). You have been on my mind off and on all day. I am glad you got some answers and I bet that the cyst is probably not something to stress over. Hopefully your RE will have a good plan moving forward.
When I finally had my operative hysteroscopy, RE was very surprised by what he found. This is what my report said: Septum began approx. 1cm from the interna cervical os, but was discontinuous after approx. 1.5cm, reappearing 1.5cm from the fundus, with a broad base. Septum was divided in the midline until both Ostia could be visualized in a single view. Septum was resected to within 0.5cm of the fundus.

(((hugs))) I have a slight arcuate uterus. Like PC said, a little dip at the top. My doctors do not think it had anything to do with any of my losses (one late, two early).
I don't have any advice, just wanted to say I've been thinking of you and I'm glad you got the results, which sound okay! Yay! Hopefully the RE can clear up your questions. ((Hugs))

@PinkCamino is correct about me. I had conflicting reports of what exactly was going on with my uterus.
My basic rundown went like this:
1. I had a hysteroscopy where what we thought was a septum was visualized, but it didn't have the "normal" appearance, so we were a little bit WTF is going on. My blog post here about this with pictures: https://kmw08itsmylife.blogspot.com/2013/09/2-hysteroscopy-comparison.html
2. Two days later I had my MRI. The report came back negative for a septum and only findings were suggestive of an arcuate uterus.
3. I then had a saline-sonogram and the septum was verified & confirmed that it was a septum we were dealing with. My blog post about this with pictures here: https://kmw08itsmylife.blogspot.com/2013/09/3-saline-sonogram-comparison.html
